"If you have a car, and have the good fortune to be traveling in the Douro Valley, this place is not to be missed. It is a bit hard to get to, but well worth the effort. Fantastic setting, beautiful rooms and amenities, and 5-star service. This is a family-run guesthouse, and Maria knows the area, the history, the products, and the hospitality business. Just a gem. I regret that I didn’t build in a day just to relax, visit one or 2 of the nearby (5 minute drive) wineries, and relax by the pool...

"This visit was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Portugal. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such kindness from our host Miguel. Located in the Douro valley surrounded by beautiful terrace vineyards, this property is truly unique. There is great attention to detail throughout the experience. From the kid’s mini soccer field, to the wine tasting, and the incredible dinner and breakfast, one night wasn’t enough to soak it all in. We hope to return to this magical place! "

"Very scenic, small historic vineyard property, set on terraced hillside not far from the Douro River. Staff was very nice and helpful, and prepared a wonderful breakfast. Very clean, charming room. Not walking distance to the town, but parking on site. Should be comfortable with heights, and mountain driving on a steep switchback road, but prize is the amazing view."

Een wegbeschrijving zou fijn zijn, steile weg naar boven, wij kwamen van de verkeerde kant aanrijden en dan is het een avontuur om de Quinta te bereiken. We hadden ons meer voorgesteld van de sfeer en gezelligheid, helaas waren we de enige gasten en had Carlos geen hart meer voor zijn bedrijf. Ze gaan ook stoppen met deze quinta. En op zondag wordt er niet gekookt, wij aten eenvoudig op zaterdagavond en prijs...
