Perfect authentic stay in Safranbolu

We had an excellent stay at Seyir Konak. We arrived early evening with Ismail welcoming us like royalty, just in time for tea on the terrace overlooking the sunset over Safranbolu. He was very friendly and kind, making us feel completely at home. Our room was very comfortable and authentic and breakfast was delicious, once again overlooking the town.

One day get away

We wanted to go live in this quaint place away from tbe tourist hustle bustle. It was great for this. We did a 2 day trip from Istanbul. The room was tiny as most hotel rooms in tbis city are. It has cute old style windows and window drapes. The market and restaurants were just a short walk down the hill. This place was cute. The manager, Esmile was extremely helpful and has a great sense of humor. The owner helped us with currency exchange and helped pay the taxi driver. Overall, a plesant experience. Will i come back to this city agin? May be if it was enroute on a trip.

The room was very comfortable. Hotel has lovely views over the old town, which is easily walkable, and they have dedicated parking which is great if you are driving. The check in process was easy and the staff are very attentive and hard working. The breakfast in the morning was excellent. Why not a perfect score? A couple of things. On our final morning, a staff member confronted another couple over not scoring a perfect 10/10 in their review. Also, the front door was locked in the morning and we couldn’t exit until staff unlocked the door from the outside. Not sure if this is standard practice, but this would be dangerous in an emergency.

The hotel is located on the hill. It is not easy to drive up there. Yet its view is beautiful. The room has AC but the remote was not provided, when we asked, the staff told us that it was not necessary to use AC. It is easy to walk down the hill to the streets full of small stores and restaurants. It took us a long time to find a seemingly clean and decent restaurant. We were kind of disppointed at some of them. They were not very friendly.

The location is good. It is a few minutes walk from all the main attraction site. The hotel is located near the hill which you can give a bird sight of the whole town. The breakfast of the hotel is home made by the owner and is delicious.
