The building is a bit dated due to being in business for over 100 years by the same family, but don’t let that turn you away. "Four years ago, we stayed at the Hotel Les Grands Montets as part of our Tour du Mont Blanc ten-day trek. We had two nights there as we prepared for our last two legs of hiking on our trek. Unfortunately, poor weather did not permit us to take the preferred route to the Lac Blanc -- wind and precipitation made that leg too dangerous. We did an alternate route. We decided to complete the Lac Blanc section one day. This year, we completed that leg of the trip under excellent weather...

"This is a fabulous property with lovely owners that take a lot of time and care with their property and guests. The space is cozy, rooms have lovely views, and it's close enough to the main town of Courmayeur without being too busy. It's also close to the funiculare to Point Helbronner and the Torino Hut, which was our primary destination for technical mountaineering on our trip. We would absolutely stay here again!"
