"I very rarely leave a less than stellar review when I am traveling but I was not impressed by this hotel or its staff. Apparently they checked me in to the wrong room. We checked in after 10pm so the moment we got in to the room we showered, brushed teeth and climbed in to bed. The front desk called up and told is we were in the wrong room and acted like it was my issue to solve. They also expected us to pack up our stuff and change rooms to the correct one. "Booking was effortless through Expedia. We were greeted at the door by Pat, the owner. He gave us a quick tour and set a combo code to the front door of the house of our choosing. There is an open snack and coffee area, and "trail magic" shelf full of items that a hiker might need without a store nearby. The shared bathroom was WELL stocked. "The room looked well put together when we got there. The woman that checked us in was super sweet and hospitable. The air/heat worked well, the fridge was cool, the water hot. The TV worked well and the safe was available with a key in the lock. There was also a microwave available. The downsides were that our shower's drain had come out and was just sitting on one of the shelves, which were slightly wobbly. "Room was very clean and looked freshly renovated. Shower was great! Bed was not the best, but better than some hotels. Room and bathroom were large with lots of space! Overall a great stay!"

"Room was clean with very comfortable bed and pillows. Smaller room but very nice. Dinner and bourbon bar was very good with nice selection. Comes with free breakfast which is home made eggs bacon and biscuits and gravy and a few sides. Way better than the same usual hotel breakfast. "Staff was nice. Room was not clean but looks like sheets were ok. Door hinges were solid rust and had to push it closed. Entry switch turned on no lights and lights beside bed did not work (tried every combination with the wall switch). There was a Wendy’s drink in the freezer (would have preferred complimentary wine). There was something splattered on bathroom door. Top of refrigerator was filthy. Honestly, was afraid to touch anything. 216 FYI. "

"I booked a room with a hot tub however, when I got there, it was not a hot tub, but a whirlpool tub inside of the bathroom. It was definitely not worth the $40 up charge. On top of that the only vending machine robbed us of $5 and the breakfast area was cute but not very well stocked and the waffle maker doesn’t work properly. It wasn’t a horrible stay but not what I expected. "
