I booked this place to have somewhere for my husband and I to stay while we came from Houston to visit my son stationed here. It also happened to be our one month wedding anniversary. This quaint couldnt be anymore perfect. They had vendors on site for mothers day weekend adding to the charm. Its like an unexpected resort! But makes you feel like youre at home or a close family members home. They have a fridge with milk (almond too), bottled water, ice cream even!, brekafast options.. all at no charge. Walking the proeprty is so peaceful and charming. I cannot say enough positive things about my stay here.

First of all, the photos of the room we stayed in were far more complimentary than the actual room. OK, I can handle that. Nothing was said before hand about the narrow hall with steps leading up into the bathroom, which wasn't great. The shower was very nice, although the pebbled base wasn't too comfortable to stand on. OK, I can handle that. The clincher for me is that the two doors with outside access had only a little turn lock to lock each door. NO dead bolt. I think this is atrocious in this day and time. The owner said she had never had issues, but it only takes one. The property isn't in a nice part of town either. Also, the steps leading up to the back door which is off the parking area has very rough cedar planks as stair rails. If one were to stumble or start to fall, grabbing onto a rough stair rail would result in tons of splinters or cut up hands. Luckily, we didn't need the rails much. The toilet area and the shower had grab bars, but the bathroom wasn't ADA compliant, so I had to wonder. Oh well.... The trim outside our room door was rotting. This property could be far nicer, but it needs upgrades. I'm guessing the other "rave" reviews are people who just don't think about these issues. Oh well.....We won't be staying here again.

We will consider the things you noted and make improvements where we possible.I’d like to mention that every one of our staff members reached out to let us know how pleasant you were from the time you checked in until you checked out 2 hours after check out time. We tried to be more than accommodating to the continual check in time change and offered you late check out upon request which you took advantage of and stayed over an hour later than agreed to. Our room cleaner waited around for over an hour for the room to become available so she could clean it. While we appreciate the business we are thankful you’ll take your business elsewhere next time you stay in the area. We hope you can find some time to appreciate things in life instead of finding the blemishes and bring negativity to everything.

Rather a unique property. The Santa Fe room was comfortable, roomy and pleasant. A little bit dark inside.

If you have any doubts about coming here vs a hotel, don’t. This place was everything we wanted and more. Not only are the staff extremely friendly, but they are attentive to detail and are great in accommodating. The inn is so unique and beautiful and it is such a memorable stay that my only regret was not booking another night.! I highly recommend this stay and if you’re on the fence like I was, take a chance, you won’t regret it!

As a business traveler, I've stayed at many mainstream hotels across Texas. I'm accustomed to a desk, breakfast routine, noisy neighbors and children, and general impersonal pleasontries. I found breakfast and services very flexible; I learned that occasionally I need a break from my routine to enjoy what's around me. The bed was more comfortable than I expected, and the staff had more attention and quality of service due to the smaller occupancy. I stayed during the week and am unsure of what the weekend entails; it did sound fun if I could have stayed. I did have easy access to highways and restaurants, so I could plan out my days and work items easily. I would definitely stay again. Thank you.

Inn at the Art Center is fabulous. This was our 4th stay. Would not consider staying anywhere else. If you like big corporate cookie cutter rooms, this IS definitely not your spot. If you like beautiful unique rooms with character as well as wonderful hosts in Susan and Jerry, this is your spot!

The Inn-Again
The Inn at the art center is a delightful, quirky place best oriented for a couple traveling without children and on vacation rather than business. It has a top quality restaurant on campus (it may be mostly an evening place?). We stumbled on to something special, and would stay again.

Nice room in a run-down part of the city
A nice suite, but in an odd and run-down location. Certainly one would not be interested in taking a stroll in the evening: lots of old industrial buildings surround the site. Moreover, the lodging should be called a "bed and make-your-own-breakfast," since the room is attached to a small kitchen with a fridge containing things one might use to make breakfast.

Lookin for something a little different but great?
What a fantastic little gem… Not only are the owners extremely welcoming and super nice, the place just feels like a piece of americana. I stayed in the Santa Fe room which reminded me exactly of places my dad and I used to stay when we were traveling the country in the south west. The art is beautiful and the landscape is so relaxing. Met lots of swathe artists pets and just enjoyed a super chill vibe while I was there. Overall just a great little escape in San Angelo!

Perfect hide away.
Cute little gem tucked away. Great job redoing the rooms. Nestled among an artists studio with gallery, artisan shops etc. was there during week. Felt like we were all alone. Nice, quiet. Definitely will be back. Shower was fabulous! Would not recommend for kids are people that want close activities. For relaxation or couple time it is perfect.

Not your average boring hotel. Very eclectic collection of buildings, art, people. Sue could not have been more friendly or accommodating! I would recommend a stay here to everyone who hates the boring cookie cutter hotel stays! All in all a wonderful experience!

Incredibly unique a must stay!
The Inn was a wonderful Surprise! It is unique ,every room has it special Decor . It is set in an old chicken farm That Susan & Jerry have turned into An artis center where 18 Artis have there studios...so cool! They have gourmet restaurant that is really good. So many touches can’t tell you all. The have flowers growing to attract the Monarch butterflies... I was walking along in the morning and walk up not know knowing about the butterflies and was surrounded by them... incredible! When I go back I am staying with Suan and Jerry at the Inn. Lovely

Wonderful Weekend Away
My wife and I had a wonderful experience at the Inn at the Art Center. Try to go on the first Saturday of the month if you can. And don’t forget to try the Silo House while you are there.

The owners were great. They were friendly and helpful with directions around town. Very relaxing atmosphere with a nice feeling of seclusion from the outside neighborhood. Clean and comfortable with an artistic surrounding. Would stay again!
