I want to preface this by saying that the hotel itself seems decent, but our specific experience was marred by the room we were assigned. We were given a room that appeared to be a converted former office. Unlike the other rooms, ours was located outside of the gated/locked area of the hotel, which felt incredibly unsafe given that the hotel is on a busy main street.
The Room Issues:
• Safety & Noise: Being right on the sidewalk meant we had immediate street noise and people yelling right outside our door all night.
• The Lighting: The hotel’s neon sign is bright and flashes like a disco/rave. The blinds provided did absolutely nothing to block it out; we actually had to hang our own blankets over the windows just to get the room dark enough to sleep.
• Maintenance: The room needs basic TLC. The carpet felt dirty and outdated, and the bathroom door rubbed the frame so badly it was difficult to open and close—it definitely needs to be shaved down.
The Silver Lining:
The rest of the amenities weren’t bad. The kitchen was functional and well-equipped, and the shower was stocked with soap and shampoo dispensers.
Summary: The staff informed us they had no other rooms to move us to, but frankly, this specific room should not be offered to guests in its current state. It lacks the security and soundproofing of the rooms within the gated portion of the property. If you stay here, ensure your room is actually inside the main hotel area.
