It's a beautifully restored older building, & staff are very friendly & helpful. Looks very modern & stylish now. Would have no problem staying there again, but they did have a few maintenance issues they need to address. First our room door lock did not work well. It took multiple attempts for the electronic key card to unlock it to get into the room every time. Secondly the water pressure was quite low. Thirdly the mattress was a bit hard, so a bit uncomfortable.

The hotel is extremely clean and well-maintained with secure parking. The meal we had at the restaurant Azotea was phenomenal. I was disappointed with the check in. I arrived about 30 min before check in. The room was not ready. They told me it might take 45 min before the room is ready. I ask if any room available, they said none. So I just waiting in the couch by the lobby. However as I waited, I saw a few couples that checked in and the room was available. I checked again an hour later, over 30min past check in time and my room was still not ready. I had to wait till 45min past check in time before my room was ready. Very disappointed. They knew I was waiting, and they could not get the room ready by checkin in time. They needed 1h15min after I arrived before my room was ready while they knew I was waiting. It showed there was no priority to clean my room as it shouldn’t take that long to clean a room.

From the moment we arrived this hotel was a wonderful experience. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with a variety of local and traditional dishes to suit everyone with the best coasta rican coffee. Don’t miss the rooftop bar. The rooms were lovely. Right in the middle of downtown, walking distance to everything. They also offer a fair conversion rate from US dollars to colones. Exceptionally clean boutique hotel.

this gem was tucked away and barely noticeable from the bustle of the streets. warm staff greeted you at the top of the stairway and bags were carried to a our spotless room overlooking the busy streets of San Jose. Boutique hotel adorned with plants and accent wooden beams. breakfast was the highlight, with a variety of fruits, rice and beans, hash, and breads to satisfy our vegan diet, accompanied with good coffee made for a solid start to a day of exploring.

Very cool designed hotel. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very tasty and a good selection of hot and cold food. The restaurant was also very good with a lovely rooftop terrace for food/drinks. Safe location to walk around outside, and with secure on site parking. Our room was clean, comfortable but no frills - worked well for a two night stay but not as stylish as the hotel itself. We would recommend staying here for a short stay in San Jose.
