"we stayed here for one night,before visiting the orang utan the next morning. location is next to the orang utan plc and that's it.nothing else in the neighbourhood,unless u drive 30-45 mins to sandakan city. the only restaurant in the property close at 9pm so after you are basically trapped in the room. its not safe to even walk in the property at night,its dark and we are in the jungle. the property needsTLC maintenance,its run down. the pool close at 5pm but i will not use the pool,its...

Nothing immediately local but frequent local buses which run til 8.30/9pm back take you to Sandakan centre (RMS .70) where you can get good selection of foods and drinks. Lots of shopping malls. Sepilok(Orangutans and Honeybears) Labuk(Proboscis monkeys) Australian war memorial and Heritage trail were good. Only waste of time and money was Gomantong Bat caves. 4hrs from Sandakan, my camera could not get anything due to it's great size and darkness. Maybe nighttime...
