I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience with this hotel. During my stay, my room was not serviced for two consecutive days. When I returned late at night, there were no clean towels, and no one was available to help. My guest and I were extremely frustrated and disappointed after a long day in the Italy summer heat. I also accidentally booked an extra night, and while I reached out to explain the situation and request a partial refund, I received no meaningful response for days—despite repeated follow-ups. I was told I would hear back, but no one ever got back to me.

Our stay at the hotel was very good. The room was incredibly pleasant, beautifully decorated, very clean, and with a cozy atmosphere that made us feel right at home, the bed was very comfortable. The surroundings of the property were absolutely stunning, offering a peaceful and relaxing environment that added so much to our overall experience, and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and let us stay after our check out. We only had one minor issue during our stay. We contacted the property to ask about the possibility of a later check-in, and we were informed that there would be a €30 fee. With that in mind, my friend and I adjusted our plans to arrive on time. However, the bus we were on was delayed, and we ended up arriving 20 minutes past the agreed check-in time. As a result, we were charged a €20 fee in cash, which we felt was a bit excessive considering we had informed the host that we were on the bus and even shared our live location. Additionally, we were given the wrong location via WhatsApp, which contributed to the delay. While we understand that a fee might be appropriate for late arrivals, we believe that €20 for just 20 minutes—especially under those circumstances—was a bit much.

We greatly appreciate that Giusy, the property waited for our late arrival to the hotel. Due to the late ending of our tour of Capri as well as construction issues, we didn’t check in til 7:30 pm. We were also very impressed with the shower in our room. It had separate controls for the hand held shower and rain head. Out of the 8 other hotels we stayed at in Italy, this shower was the best! The counter space in the washroom and bedroom was also the largest! Parking is very close by for 15 euro per night. The only negative issue we had was that we could not find a staff member to check us out at 10 am. After returning the keys we had no way to exit the front gate and no way to get back in the building. We contacted Guisy who was going to help us but then another hotel guest let us out with their fob. We would suggest that management be available in the office at check out time. Overall a great stay.

We had a very comfortable stay. The room was large, as was the bathroom. Room was clean and staff was delightful. Our only problem was that the room air conditioner cut off every 3 hours. This caused us to wake up in the middle of the night to turn the unit back on. This naturally interrupted our sleep! Not sure why the unit was set up this way, but if affected our travel partners as well. If this could be fixed, we would highly recommend the hotel. The breakfast was good each morning, and overall we enjoyed our stay with the exception of the air conditioning issue!

Très joli ancien monastère rénové en hotel à taille humaine, à 10 min à pied de la gare de San'Agnello. La piscine entourée d'olivier et d'oranger vous plonge dans une atmosphère paisible, parfaite pour des vacances reposantes. Les chambres sont propres avec une belle vue. Une réceptionniste attentionnée, serviable et de bon conseil.

BEWARE: The worst hotel ever!!!

Beware! The worst experience of our lives. The photos are deceiving. Room is the size of a bathroom. Beware they have a huge pit bulldog there at all times that’s not on a leash. I am allergic to dogs and the property is infested with dog feces everywhere. Hotel is dirty and not clean. They were very rude to us and would’nt even open the gate for our taxi to come in so you have to pull your luggage on rocks for about 500 feet. With this heat they also turned off the air conditioner when they would clean our room to save electricity. Also we had to end up buying our own toliet paper bc the maid only comes to clean like every 2 days or so. Their breakfast has ants on the cheese and they barely even give you water. I have never ever left a bad review in the 25 years I have been traveling and I’m not even a picky traveler as I’ve stayed in hostels but I have to say this by far is the worst place you can ever stay at! They wouldn’t even call a taxi for us and told us it cost 190 euros to go to Positano which is not true. They have some kind of deal w their friend to rip off tourists. The tall lady working at the front tried to rip us off w her boat tours too and I’m glad I refused. She is a racist as well. We did NOT feel welcome and felt uncomfortable. This is very unlike most Italian B and B places usually they are so amazing and friendly. Sorrento Bay Hotel should be shut down! Ants and dogs feces everywhere on the property. So dirty and smelly and in a bad location too!!!

Hotel de qualité, un peu loin de sorrento

Chambre spacieuse, très confortable et propre. Un grand perci à Giulia qui nous a bien accueilli et conseillé pour notre sejour. Par contre il faut prendre en compte que l' hôtel est à 10 mins des stations train et bus et que les transports en commun sont très perturbés sur la côte amalfitaine.

ANTS!

Beware of an ant problem. We noticed a ton of aunts coming through a hole by the window the first night we arrived. The next morning the room was infested with ants. Reception told us it happens because they have a garden and it’s summer time which we understand but the entire hotel floor was covered in ants. They were getting into the bed, in our luggage. We couldn’t even walk without them crawling up our legs. We tried to reach reception to let them know and no one was available for hours when it’s stated the reception is available as of 8am. Finally we found a cleaning lady who was able to give reception a call, she was sleeping. She said it would be taken care of and we asked for new bedding and towels, since we had to use our towels to clean up the aunts. When we arrived back poison powder was placed by the window and in corners and the dead ants were everywhere. I again had to clean them myself. No one cleaned the ants, we had the same bedding, and the towels filled with ants were left in the room. The place was nice, but this killed our stay.

Nice but not very good money for value.

A bit disappointed as the parking was not free while they have a huge space and garden, and they ask you 20 euros more for one night ! It is very expensive and I wouldn't have chosen this place if I knew about it (it is written in the T&C that no one actually read). place is hard to find as the gate is very narrow and hidden by another wall. No explanations were given by the host. A bit pricey too, no breakfast, no coffee nor tea available in the room. The head shower does not work properly and need descaling. the room is nice but I won't recommend this place to stay.

A very relaxed visit to Sorrento Bay!

The Sorrento Bay has very spacious rooms with very good shower facilities it is very clean, the staff are very attentive. We are just back from staying there we were a party of 6 and we all give it the thumbs up we will definitely go back to stay again we highly recommend!
