"We stayed at the Montecito Inn because it was close to the Music Academy of the West. Our room and bathroom were quite small, so small that I felt guilty leaving my husband there while I attended a workshop. The bathroom mirror was the smallest we have ever seen; so was the bar of soap, which was no more than .75” x 2”.
The old-fashioned elevator was an irritation: you have to open a door and a metal gate in order to walk in. In the old days, there would’ve been an elevator attendant, but there was no such person at the inn.
Montecito Inn imposes a $47 fee for “amenities,“ but that’s really a parking fee. They provide hot water and coffee in the lobby at all hours, but that’s necessary only because there is no coffee maker in the room."
