I have mixed feelings about my stay here. On the positive side, the room was new, nicely decorated, a good size, in a great location, and reasonably priced.
Unfortunately, the check-in experience was very disappointing. My partner has an injury and couldn’t go up stairs, so I asked the front desk attendant if there were any oceanfront rooms on the lower level available or if the hotel had elevators. He was dismissive, giving one-word answers or redirecting the conversation, and it was clear he just wanted to check us in quickly.
Later that evening, since it was already dark and we couldn’t tell where the ocean was, we called to confirm whether the room matched the oceanfront style we paid for. My partner was very polite he also works in hospitality and even mentioned we could contact Expedia, as we booked through them, just to clarify. During the call, the attendant muttered “this is ridiculous,” and later called back saying, “If you’re not happy with the room, you can leave and you’ll get your money back.” This felt very unprofessional and dismissive.
I understand hospitality can be challenging, but reasonable questions should be answered respectfully. We were never rude. I wanted the hotel to be aware of this situation.
