"We have stayed at many properties in Solvang and were happy with King Frederick Inn. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Karen. The location was central, literally, the center of Solvang. Everything you could need is within walking distance.
The main reasons for the four star instead of the five star (8 verses 10 based on Expedia double valuing the points), is the proximity of room doors. Our door was virtually hindered to the room next to ours and neighbors returned at 11:00 p.m. and proceeded to enter and exit the room and slam the door numerous times, causing us to be startled from our sleep. The walls are also thin so be prepared to hear things you may not wish to hear.
There isn't much based on the idea of breakfast - one danish per guest, yogurt, granola bars, coffee. But not much else. We are not big breakfast people, so it did in a pinch. If you want breakfast, go down the street to Paula's - you will be happy you did.
We would return, perhaps, but are cautious about the close proximity of the doors and their slamming."
