"The room was somewhat clean, but we also found ants and spiders. The towels we were given had stains on them as well. If you’re looking for a comfortable place to sleep, this isn’t it. The pillows were like hospital pillows, and you could feel the springs in the mattress. The curtains didn’t close, so the light from outside kept shining in. If you’re looking for an inexpensive place and don’t care about comfort, then this might be for you. However, we personally would never stay there again. There was a point in time when we woke up and were just ready to go home. "

"I have stayed here three times in the past year. I am a quasi local. Friendly, clean, safe, local, uncomplicated. Lobby has space to sit and read, cozy fireplace, big windows, for when you want to give your travel companion space. Fresh brewed coffee in the morning, restaurant on site for lunch and dinner and the locals use the restaurant. Pool is heated when open for season, call ahead to confirm. It's a bit old school, you park in front of your room, rooms are updated, super functional but not spacious unless you book a suite. The wifi is a bit weak, access email reliability, yes, stream movies you will probably get buffering. The rooms are fine for solo, duo or couples, or family with one child travellers. Ironically, it's a good location as there is a lot that is accessible by car within 5 minute drive. Please note, even though the maps show local roads, it is not walkable, there are no shoulders, local road is narrow, no shoulder, people speed, or are restricted access. Don't plan to get a morning walk or take the baby out in a stroller or think you will walk to town for the day. Yes there is a bus, but it's once an hour. You must have a car and a 5 minute drive will get you to parks and open space, 10 min to beach. Super easy to find. Can be pricey during beach season and weekends, all places in Santa Cruz are. I will stay here again."

"The room was nice and clean and a really good size. Everything worked well and the beds were pretty comfy. However, check in was terrible. I was talking to someone on a computer screen that could not hear me. There were cleaners yelling to each other across the parking lot and there didn't seem to be anyone on site over night. Other guest were making tons of noise and even arguing outside and no staff to call for help. I would have definitely stayed again if it weren't for all the noise. "

"The front desk was so nice, upgraded our room. Room was ocean view, clean and beds were comfortable. Great experience. "

"Very nice hotel, the outside was very peaceful and relaxing. We checked in late and lobby was quiet, hotel looked clean. Our room was nice, we did find a hair in the shower. Our main issue was we were told the gym was on the floor above us, so between 7am and 9am we could hear a lot of noise & banging. It kept us from sleeping in which is what we needed after our long drive! Very disappointed to have to deal with that, thankfully we only had to stay 1 night."

"Hot tub not working. Unheated pool. Insufficient room towels. No bath mat. Extremely noisy early morning by staff, cussing and yelling."
