"Beautiful house on Sprout lake, less than 1 min to the waters edge. The place was spotless, had all the nice little touches, and the only thing we needed to bring was our food. Owner was very pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend this hidden gem as a romantic get away."

"As one of the cheapest motels, it hasn’t been renovated in a few decades. The mattress and pillows are cheap and old. The floors and walls haven’t been cleaned in a long time. BUT the pool was good and the perfect temperature. The kids will love it. If this is all you can afford, it is stayable.. Maybe just go buy a pillow at Walmart."

"Our room at Painter’s Lodge had recently been upgraded with new paint, furniture and bathroom. It looked and seemed very pleasant. We requested a 2 Queen bed room but received a Family suite. The bed was very comfortable (it seemed brand new), but there was no mattress protector and the bottom sheet was a flat sheet with knots tied in the corners to keep it in-place! The set-up of the room is a bit strange. There are no chairs or couch in the room so the only place to sit is on the bed. ...

"Everything was great. Breakfast was hot and plentiful. Staff were wonderful. My only comment would be that an air conditioner would make it perfect. There is not a pool but there is a nice little sandy beach nearby and you can walk all around town."
