"The shuttle was easy to find and prompt. An excellent hotel for a relatively quick overnight in Amsterdam if you'd like to be near the airport. We loved learning that it's owned by the 5th generation of a local family. They clearly take pride in what they do."

"Longest check-in ever, very old towels (hard not white, thin), the room was quite expensive. Fantastic location, beautiful views from the room, nice room, great coffee. Attached to the airport, no need for a shuttle, carts to carry all of our luggage right there. Took a cart right up to our room and kept it for the next day. So handy."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5 Stars – Great Location, Clean Rooms & Friendly Staff! Overall, we had a great stay at this hotel during our Amsterdam trip! The room was clean and comfortable, which is always a major plus when traveling. The location was one of the biggest highlights! The hotel is right near the train/bus station, and the airport is only one train stop away. Getting into central Amsterdam was also convenient. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! We arrived very early, and they allowed us to...

"The room was great ! So well organized, design and peaceful from neighboring rooms. Staff was helpful and very accommodating during check in and checkout. We never had a chance to eat our breakfast because we need to be at the airport 3hrs prior and it was an early flight. The bar was superb, cozy ambiance and we have met a great man who took our orders, he’s an intern there …David is amazing person , he’s a from Philippines. Kudos to the admin and staffs, my only suggestion please provide more...

"Reasonable sized room. Property is old and extremely busy. Breakfast was just ok. Very crowded."

"I like everything it was nice. Everybody was nice."

"Everything fine just need to improve there room service that’s all."

"The place was so quiet, accessible, good parking."

"A good hotel although not much is nearby if you are not travelling with a car. Room was good and breakfast was very good. Hotels restaurant was not open but thankfully the restaurant across the street was good. No grocery or convenience stores nearby. Close to the train."

"Property is under construction. Very poor way of handling the situation. Hotel was way bellow Best Western standards, and even more far away from it for their Plus level. Even room was renovated, it lacked of any comfort and cozy feeling. Minimal toiletries, just soap and shower gel. Would not recommend."

"Room was very clean. Bed was a little lumpy but I was only there overnight. It was a great price and location. Staff is excellent!"

"The American Hotel is arguably the best hotel in all of Amsterdam; if not Holland. It is by far my favorite hotel in all of Europe. The hotel is an amazing structure that is well maintained by a variety of their staff. The rooms are spacious and always clean. The staff goes without saying is impeccable in their day to day activities. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is going to visit Amsterdam for any length of time. Again, great hotel!"
