"I stayed here for a week and I loved my time here! Genuinely wish I didn’t have to leave. You’re at Amsterdam Centra station within 15 minutes!!! Great location and amenities! The hotel was slightly confusing to get to at first, as you think you should head left when exiting the train station as that’s where it looks like more hotels are, but really you turn right and head towards an elevator, stairs & escalator! Head towards the bike parking garage if you’re confused!! Once you make it there you’ll see the hotel and walk down making your way thru a small park. Having a grocery store right across was so helpful and handy, as I enjoyed grabbing snacks and drinks to have in the very handy room fridge!!! The room had AC which was perfect for the heatwave happening. The tv was perfect. Shower was lovely and so were the shampoo & conditioner. Room cleaning was on the 3rd day and it was so nice to not have to worry about someone cleaning every day! Location was perfect, so easy to run up to the train and catch a train within minutes. Staff were so nice and helped me find my room and fix my keycards for me when they stopped one night. Would recommend this hotel to anyone!! Can’t wait to come back to Zaandam and the Zaan Hotel!!!"

"Love the hotel. We stayed in the Annex, it’s a bit of a walk from the main hotel, but not bad, just a little different then most hotels we’ve stayed at. The staff was super helpful. Especially when we checked out and drove away with our passports still in the little safe. They were so helpful and saved the day for us! 10 out of 10 for them! They have a little parking lot that is free to use for guests. Would stay there again!"

"unfortunately i seem to have gotten a room that is older and in disrepair. the fridge door fell off when i opened it, the sink was cracked and soon turned out to be blocked!.. staff did respond promptly when i let them know about the problems. the room i was in had badly placed slanted ceilings for the gable. luckily i am short or i would have been crawling over the bed to get from one side of the room to the other. the breakfast is an experience to be missed. the scrambled eggs were rubbery and the pastries not very good. definitely not worth 20 euros. there are other close establishments which provide a delicious breakfast for quite a bit less. do not get the breakfast included with your room because after the first breakfast you will not want it. the canal outside the restaurant is full of trash and very unappetizing to look at. what could have been a charming view was quite stomach churning. i realize that this is a city problem but i wonder if the hotel could come to an agreement that the trash be skimmed for a fee. we had an evening meal at the restaurant and it was quite tolerable. the hotel is well placed to the inter city trains but the elevator and the escalator outside the door that raises you up to the level of the train were both broken. not the best for someone with mobility issues. i would not stay at this hotel again. in my experience, it was not a 4* by any means."

"We arrived after a 7 and a half hour drive. The young man on reception was very polite and attentive. In our room, I realised that the bedding and pillows were feathers, which I have an extreme allergy to. My wife talked to him and within minutes, knocked on our door with complete new polyester (I assume) quilts and pillows. The next morning, we have been dealt with a very nice young lady and man. The location was perfect. Hidden away in a small wooded area, and still only 10 minutes walk to Heemskerk town centre, where there were plenty of restaurants and bars. We have decided that whenever we are in the Amsterdam area, we will certainly book to stay here. "
