"I really wanted to like this place. My husband and I enjoy small hotels and we had a good stay here 15 years ago. Sadly, it has suffered from neglect. The poolside furniture was incredibly uncomfortable and sparse. The hotel is directly on the water (a lagoon) and advertises free use of their kayaks. However, all but one were broken and unusable. "These Keys properties are unique. The whole atmosphere is relaxing. Stepping out of your little cabin to the bay in the morning is wonderful. Plenty of sunbeds and shade for hot days. Easy access to the water and calm swimming. Canoes and paddle boards. Staff here are very pleasant and helpful. Easy walk to local restaurants, two with sunset views. Cabin was well equipped and good aircon."

"The floor in the room was filthy. My barefoot were black with dirt within 30minutes of being in the room. The vanity in the bathroom leaks down underneath the laminated floor. The floor was constantly wet. The air conditioner fan rattled all night long."
