"The best thing about this property is Edmond. He is the best host I have had in my many years of frequent travel. What a guy. The place itself is great and the rooms and simple but worth the stay. "t was the worst experience. We arrived and they couldn’t find our reservation. Then, after we showed them the reservation details, they said it wasn’t paid and that we had to pay again. When we told them we were going to call to verify the payment, they just slammed the door in our faces, never opened it again, and didn’t answer any more calls. We had to find another hotel. They should remove this recommendation from Expedia — it makes the website look bad with the terrible service they provide."

"This was our 5th time on the island , our first attempt non all inclusive which we had concerns about costs . The option having our own kitchen was perfect, beach chairs , cooler with dishes and ice packs to take to the beaches, our own out door space and a shared clean pool that was mostly to ourselves. "When we come to Aruba we usually stay Marriott. This time we decided to try Joia. It’s a new hotel. But that’s where the good things stopped. If you come to the beach too early no umbrellas or chairs are put out. Usually they’re starting to do that after 8-8:30 am. Also, if you didn’t come early enough the staff puts towels on the chairs claiming it’s for members only. So if that’s the case it should be advertised as such hotel. For members of some club only. Apparently if you paid $1,000.00...

"Would definitely revisit! The birds are a problem when it comes to eating outside. The pool is beautifully maintained which is why it surprises me that they do not pay as much attention to deck and lounge chairs. We had to wipe bird dropping off of every lounge chairs we sat in. "
