"We checked in our room and there was a dirty rag left in top of the toilet. Leftover food from a previous guest was also still in the room. There was no smoke detector as it had been pulled off and the wires left exposed. The bed was badly stained as well. We left after only two hours and were not refunded. We paid $180 for one night and it was not suitable to stay in. Very disappointed that management would not refund our money for a room that should never have been rented in its condition."

"I use Holiday Inn Express and Suites whenever I travel between CA and NC twice each year. I really do not like leaving negative reviews, but Abilene is consistently higher priced than the other cities I stay in (Tucson and Tuscaloosa) and the hotel is never as clean and up to date. "The only good things I can say are
#1 the lady working the front desk tried to accommodate us by giving us a different room.
#2 the AC and TV worked.
#3 the lady gave us a refund so we could go somewhere else.
The pictures you see must be from when it was brand new. The room was DISGUSTINGLY filthy and had bad patch jobs all over the room and bathroom.
