"The place was great! Maybe not for everyone but perfect for anyone with kids or just looking for something a little different. We are seniors but have done a lot of camping and this was glamping at its best. We picked the yurt which had an outdoor kitchen and an external bathroom. Everything felt really authentic yet still very modern. It all was just there as one would expect from a nice hotel but presented in a different way. Kind of a cowboy camp or depression era type of a kitchen outside...

"Our courtyard room was perfect for our 2 night stay and the hotel is situated across the road from the beachfront. The centre of Kaikoura where the main shops and restaurants are was just a bit too far for us to walk to but not a problem as plenty of parking available. Small onsite car park but parking available in street outside hotel if full."

"Amazing ocean view. Lovely room with good toiletries, nespresso coffee etc. very close to the main town and ‘The Whaler’ pub. Very good Continental breakfast included as well which is a bonus. "

Note the check in details from Expedia are not quite correct. check-in is 2-6pm and reception reopens at 2. Expedia says reception is only open until 10am.
