Bali Lush is one of the most delightful places in which I have ever stayed. Far from tourist haunts & traffic jams, we were able to enjoy hassle free days in our own delightful cottage with peaceful views over green paddy fields & tropical fruit trees, disturbed only by competitive roosters & illusive geckos. Apart from cooling the heat of the afternoon in a heart shaped pool, there was more than enough to occupy with trips to Tabanan market, pillion motorbike rides down quiet lanes, butterfly spotting on walks to waterfalls & heavenly massages in the afternoon, before relaxing on the terrace to enjoy local dishes cooked to order & shared with a select few like-minded guests. Bliss!

A getaway from daily stress

Remote from turist places and an very authentic experience. Amazing and very beautiful view of rice fields, fruit trees and nature. An excellent place if you want to get away from everything and just relax. Bali Lush offers clean water and local grown organic fruits. The staff is very kind and sweet. They are all from the local village as Bali Lush supports the local community. Our room was very nice even though the wifi wasn't that great. The outdoor bathroom also has its charm. On the downside it is a bit far away from cities and towns. So shopping and restaurant opportunities are very limited. David who owns the place is very helpful to arrange tours and give tips to nearby sights.

The real Bali

If you are after a real escape the hustle of the major centres or just a peaceful retreat then Bali Lush is perfect. The villas are rustic original Indonesian buildings with fantastic attention to detail with interior finishes that ooze quality and comfort. Set amongst terraced rice padies in a small village location you feel like you are really apart of Bali. The hosts are very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. The small fresh produce menu is beautiful. Nearly everything is sourced from the property or the local village. This is definitely worth a visit.

An outstanding experience!

Outstanding ! The wild jungle around, the amazing wood houses in the middle of the rice fields, the beautiful and stylished room with large terrasse, the king size bed and bright white cotton, the pleasant staff and the colorful owner, everything was in perfect harmony with the nature around. We loved this place ! We booked for 1 night, we forgot about the heavy rain and finally stayed for 5 days ! If by chance you reach that place do not take it as a deal. It is an outstanding experience and a gift.

Wonderful oasis in Manikyang village!

I spent two nights here in April with my husband and young son. We stayed in the Butterfly room and travelled here from Ubud, which was about a 1.5-hour drive. Bali Lush arranged all the transport, which was really helpful. Bali Lush is an amazing place. When you arrive, you feel a calmness and can take in the beauty of the view overlooking the rice paddies. The owners are wonderful people that are very kind and take great care of you during your stay. The food is delicious and is made with vegetables and fruit trees grown in the garden and on-site at Bali Lush. You select from a menu of about 5 choices for lunch and dinner (both vegetarian and meat options) and breakfast includes fresh fruit smoothies, coffee or tea, toast, and eggs. Bali Lush is peaceful, beautiful, and environmentally conscious. Also, the owners can help arrange day trips to local sites of interest and it is also just nice to walk around the local area. We went to see a nearby waterfall. During our stay, we took advantage of the masseuse at Bali Lush and had massages and a body scrub--both were excellent. The rooms are tastefully and creatively decorated with lots of space. The Butterfly room has an incredible open air bathroom (with covering over the toilet area and sink) with small plants growing along the walls (see photos). It is unlike anything I have ever experienced. If you are looking for a relaxing retreat without having to compromise on amenities, this is it!
