Sendai Royal Park Hotel
8/10 Good
"The location of the hotel is perfect, nestled between the historical sites for those wanting to learn a little more about Japan's history and the mall for avid shoppers. The weather in Sendai is beautiful in August...I was pleasantly surprised given this is one of the hottest month in Japan. Trees, thank goodness for this city of trees - bringing one closer to nature. Everywhere we walked, nature sounds were intense, so easy to forget this sound when one has spent too much time in the city. The hotel is beautiful and gave off the air of old European style, very easy to get lost in this hotel. The attendants to the front door personnel to the housekeeper were very kind and pleasant to speak. The rooms were very clean and provided necessary amenities such as toothbrush, wash towel, and facial care packet. I think the only thing that would be hopeful for female guests an extra towel for hair care (i.e drying) is helpful. Otherwise, the staff were very helpful and efficient. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious, offering a variety from Eastern (Japanese) cuisine to Western choices. I think the only suggestion for Sendai is possible offer some meat/beef options aside from the beef tongue stew which is delicious but a little more selection would be delightful. Otherwise, Sendai is a perfect hidden gem of Japan that is worth visiting."

"The location of the hotel is excellent. Our family of four walked from Sendai Station to the hotel with seven pieces of luggage in less than 10 minutes, even in the rain. The route was easy to manage because there are escalators connected to the station, and most of the walk is on flat sidewalks with only one traffic-light crossing. The hotel is conveniently located near the pedestrian shopping area, where you'll find a wide variety of restaurants, cafés, and local food. Several connected department stores are also within walking distance, making shopping very convenient. In addition, a local train station is less than a five-minute walk away. Housekeeping was reliable and punctual. At check-in, guests can choose the level of housekeeping service they prefer. I selected full daily housekeeping for both of our rooms, and the service was consistently on time. My son did have a few minor concerns about the room's cleanliness, but overall we found it satisfactory. The staff were friendly, courteous, and professional. The common areas, including the main lobby and floor lobbies, were always clean, quiet, and well air-conditioned. The hotel also offers several complimentary amenities. Guests can enjoy free soft drinks and ice cream from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and complimentary duck noodles are served every evening after 8:00 p.m., which was a nice treat after a day of sightseeing. We arrived around 12:30 p.m., well before the 3:00 p.m. check-in time. We left our luggage at t"

Hotel Metropolitan Sendai East

"The room was clean and comfortable. I really liked the Onsen that we were able to access directly from the property. I was really happy with the property, but it took pretty long time for check-in. I was guided to the self check in but it didn’t work and guided to the in person check in. A guest who was checking in front of us was taking long time so I had to wait. Also this was our first time to stay this hotel, and I was not sure how the Onsen ticket works, like if the ticket can be used for the checkout day. I needed to bring up the basic question that most guests might have. At the Onsen place, once we arrived the floor, the staff was just standing at the entrance and staring at us and we were a bit confused. So I needed to ask how it works. Then they answered. The both hotel and Onsen property were clean and very nice, but the customer service was a bit awkward."
