Room needed a lot of tlc

We had a good size room with a separate lounge area. Unfortunately the bedroom window was screwed shut so we could not open it. The whole room and especially the bathroom was in need of modernisation. As the premises was on the main road it was quite noisy even at night so if you are a light sleeper like me it will not be for you. It was not all bad though, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was very good. Plenty of parking. However because of the poor condition I would not recommend.

The property had been repossessed. I had no email from you or the hotel and didn't find out till we got there. By that time it was to late to find another hotel so had to drive the 160 miles home. Was not impressed at all.

B&B from hell

Disgusting run down B &B. Big safety issues. Smoke alarm covered with a plastic bag. Mould and mildew everywhere. Dirty glasses in the bar. No toilet roll in the communal toilets down stairs. Breakfast was ok but slow service. Stained carpet in the bedroom. Ended up sleeping in my van with the dog. Noisy from road immediately outside.

Not a happy

I wouldn't even let my dogs stay in that hotel it needs to be inspected 1 fire exit was blocked by chairs , the hall way carpet up to the rooms was filthy And heavy stained The banisters , were lose , the carpets were a trip hazard ! The room a single was so dirty stains on carpet doors and frames and walls dirty , a radiator in the room was dirty the kettle was dirty , the tray with coffee etc teaspoon dirty opens carton of milk ! Now where to hang anything Onky a small cubotad with a couple of coat hangers the blind on the window was covers in dust ! On complaint I checked out after 20 mins I have asked for my money back ! How you can show a guest to such a dirty room is terrible ! Then to say it had been cleaned ! It's such a shame cause if was pulled up it would be a lovely place to stay ! Having said all that the bar area seemed ok !

I stayed for 7 nights, they don’t change towels,pillow case and bed sheet, until you asked, shampoo and shower gel not provide willingly.

The best part was the garden. The room was dirty and smelly. We had to use wet wipes to clean the surfaces and adapter plug. The carpets were grubby and very stained. The headboard was broken and there was a very dead looking plant falling over in the corner. ( we watered and staked it whilst there) The tv would only work for a couple of minutes before turning itself off. On a positive, the sheets were clean. We won’t be returning.

The property is awful. Apart from being in a poor state of repair (room 3) but throughout with threatbare poorly fitted carpets, window not fitting properly, shower in poor state with the hose not fitting into the housing. Stool in room ripped, one bedside lamp that you had to shake to work. It was dirty, behind the small chest was filthy with a teaspoon, some paperwork and an open milk sachet. The carpet was dire. I understand old and tired buildings but I do not accept poor cleaning. On the positive side the breakfast was very nice and the serving staff pleasant.

The property is not in top notch condition. I could see minor issue with plumbing, painting, cleanliness in general. There property abuts a pretty busy road and if you are a poor sleeper this might be a bummer. Staff were quite friendly and are willing to help you out with every issue. I would not say the same thing about the owner though who sounded harsh over the phone prior to my check in. I requested for a mini fridge in my room to stock some baby food and it was promptly arranged prior to my check in. Breakfast was quite good - eggs, sausage, bacon, beans, toast , hash brown. I stayed for a single night so don’t have much complaints about my stay as such. But I don’t think I will prefer to stay here for a longer duration.

Enjoyed our stay, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The chef is excellent, his lasagne is out of this world. Easy to get to and close to East Somerset railway, Kilver gardens etc.
