Unforgettable Experience

We stayed at Hillsnek with friends and had the best time. Beautiful place to stay, on arrival we were welcomed with an elephant drinking at the pool which was amazing! The tent was fabulous, very comfortable bed and a bath with a view! Used the outdoor shower too which was wonderful! Would have loved a day just to enjoy our surroundings but we were here for safari and it didn’t disappoint, 6 game drives over our 3 nights and they all exceeded any expectations we had. Hanri our guide was lovely, very knowledgeable and great fun! Enjoyed the sundowners and hot chocolate in the morning when it is noticeably cooler! The food was delicious and beautifully presented with a choice for evening meal and breakfast. This fantastic experience wouldn’t have been possible without all the wonderful staff who want to make sure you have a brilliant time. They were so warm and welcoming, so many names I couldn’t keep track but must mention Renzo, Jaison, Nadine who were front of house looking after us but not forgetting the lovely ladies with the hot cloths, cooks and cleaners who all contributed to our unforgettable trip. Thankyou everyone x

Couldn’t recommend this enough. We had the most amazing stay. All of the staff are super welcoming and make you feel at home. They’re all amazing and the Safari guides are incredibly knowledgable. Andrew our guide was really passionate, and all of our drives were amazing. Every meal we had was delicious and the whole experience felt very special.

Wir hatten die beste Zeit in Hillsnek! Es fühlt sich an wie eine kleine Familie und ist super besonders. Die Menschen dort sind einfach toll und geben alles damit man sich rundum wohl fühlt. Das Essen ist exzellent und abwechslungsreich und der ganze Tag ist gefüllt mit Highlights. Unser Guide Hanri hat das gesamte Erlebnis perfekt gemacht - er weiß so viel über die Natur, und die Tiere, das ist unglaublich! Wir sind so glücklich, dass wir diese Zeit erleben durften und der Abschied fiel uns wirklich sehr schwer. Danke für alles - wir sehen uns wieder :)

Tolle Lodge mit wunderschönem Ausblick im Amakahala Game Reserve. Wir haben uns von unserem Ranger Tim sehr gut informiert gefühlt. Elefanten kamen zum trinken an den Pool. Die all inklusive Mahlzeiten haben durchgehend gut geschmeckt.

I’m in love with the HillsNek and the Amalhala. Wir hatten eine wundervolle Zeit im HillsNek von der ersten Sekunde an. Eine wunderschöne private Anlage zum entschleunigen aus dem stressigen Arbeitsalltag. Ein toller Service der uns am letzten Abend mit einem privaten Dinner überraschte, leckeres lokalen Essen und tolle Safaris mit einem sehr erfahrenen und engagierten Ranger.

O hotel é muito bom! A estrutura comum é simples mas muito completa. O staff do hotel é extremamente atencioso. Faultless!

We stayed here for two nights and can't recommend it enough. The staff are so lovely. They make you feel so special and welcome when you come back to camp after a game drive. During a two night stay we had 4 game drives: we arrived at 1pm so we had one that afternoon, two the following day and one on the morning we left. You will see such a variety of animals and the guide seems to know everything about them and the park. Each drive is a new experience. The tents are basically lodges made our of canvas so you have all of the home comforts. The food is excellent and they accommodate any dietary preferences. All of the food and drink is included and they never let you go hungry. I can't speak more highly of the camp. It was an unforgettable experience.

Intimate safari break for the family

Fabulous private game reserve for a family break with kids aged 10 and 7. Close encounters with lions, cheetah, elephants, rhino and buffalo as well as a host of other animals. Staff looked after us very well and ranger (Byron) was brilliant. The elevated position of the luxury tent was perfect with views across the bush and tent had everything we needed. Kids had a blast.

\We would certainly come back here and recommend. Lovely tent/bathroom - albeit it was well into the 30's and very hot in the room. Pool lovely and cooling. Wifi not great in room ( but they suggest its not ideal for a break - fair point!). Food great, but options a little limited. Sebaston the Guide was excellent, lovely place, lovely experience.

Incredible. Brilliant lodge consisting of only four luxury tents in the middle of the game reserve. As many staff as there were guests. Excellent food and drink whenever you wanted it, the ranger Byron was fantastic at finding all the different game. Generally just incredible.

Hillsnek was a luxury safari experience. From the wonderful tent, to the delicious and plentiful meals and snacks, everything was a delight. The game drives were so educational and awe inspiring. So many delightful animals and plants. The gorgeous scenery alone were worth it. Our ranger Matt was wonderful, clearly knowledgeable, enthusiastic and respectful of the environment and animals.

Superb in every way

After ten days touring Cape Town and the Garden Route, Hillsnek was a perfect way to finish our holiday. We spent four nights there relaxing by the pool during the daytime, which was sandwiched between three hour game drives in the early morning and mid afternoon. A perfect compromise. The drives were always exciting and our ranger friendly and very knowledgeable.

Amazing stay at Hillsnek! The staff could not be more accommodating to everyone's needs. The food that is served for breakfast, lunch and dinner are amazing as well. And of course, the game drives are unbelievable. We saw so many animals and learned so much, it was truly a one of a kind experience.

Highly recommended

Highly recommended, especially for couples looking for a smaller more intimate safari lodge, definatly not suited for small children. Only has 4 tents, felt luxurious but also a little rustic which added to the experience. Great game too, saw plenty and did not feel contrived like at some game lodges. Friendly staff, experienced safari guides who really love and care about their jobs. Pool a little small and no air con, but you are in a tent! Menu is a little restricted as only 8 guests who all dine together at the same time. Make sure you tell them what you do and don;t like to eat and they will cater for it.

Underbart ställe med grym mat och personal!

Vilket ställe!!! Vi spenderade 3 nätter på denna underbara lodge belägen i Amakhala Game Reserve. Hillsnek har endast 4 tält så var ute i god tid när ni bokar! Fantastisk god mat från morgon till kväll och allt ingår i upplägget. Vi hade utsikt över reservatet från vårt lyxiga tält. Kändes rätt sjukt att tälta med den lyxiga känslan som var i tältet. Personalen är så trevlig och serviceminded när det kommer till att få sina gäster att trivas. Man åker ut på två turer om dagen och får se massor av djur (lejon, geparder, noshörningar, elefanter, giraffer, zebror m.m.). Stanna 2-3 nätter för att få uppleva så mycket som möjligt och njuta av detta underbara ställe! Vår guide Byron var grym och passionerad över sitt jobb, så kul. Har ni chansen att åka hit så tveka inte!!!
