"The stars at night were fabulous words simply can not express the awe they inspired. The staff and other boarders were very enjoyable also. There are many more things to do than you expect. Definitely would go again. Fort Davis mountains state park many hidden treasures if you enjoy the out doors."

"I waited to write my rating to see if my opinion mellowed; it didn't. First, there is NO STAFF. They send you a code to log into the cryptic door that's next door to the bar downstairs, then another code to unlock the room. The worst part; the walls are paper thin. We could hear the people next door and ended up knocking on the wall as a "hint" to quiet down. The man then knocked on our door and said that he just wanted to apologize for the noise. When I said "okay" he responded with "What the f***." No idea what that was all about. I closed the door and he knocked again, trying to apologize; totally bizarre. The reservation did say that earplugs are provided but they only gave us one pair, which I used but could still hear noise from the street. The room was also right above the restaurant/bar and the live musicians could be clearly heard. Luckily, we were heading downstairs for dinner, and the performers ended before we went back upstairs. As for Amenities, I rated it good since the restaurant had excellent food and drinks but I don't even know if the two are owned by the same person/company. The bedroom decor was nice and bedding was pretty. The floor was filthy, looked like it was never cleaned. There were directions for logging onto the internet but it did not work at all. First of all, the name of the service didn't even show up as a choice. We tried the passwords on a few other sites but nothing worked, so I could not use my laptop. No staff to fix it. "

"This property is great for pets (we have a large dog) because it’s rather isolated and there’s lots of outdoor space. The renovation of this place, which is a group of multi-sized buildings which formerly served as a rehab facility, is beautifully done. The rooms are stylish and the towels and amenities luxurious. Be prepared to bring every last thing you may need however, because there is no front desk to call for a forgotten toothbrush, no Coke machine for a bottle of water, no hospitality number for fresh towels (though they are gorgeous. I went to the sister hotel in Marfa to buy some for home). It is truly in the middle of nowhere about 8 miles from Fort Davis. My partner loved it for the quiet (except the night when one of the spaces was rented for a party) and the stargazing in the big, dark skies. In summary, I think I would have preferred having a front desk in one of the buildings, or someone who was present on site. The proprietors were very responsive if I sent a message through my booking app, but I guess I like to talk and meet people a little when I travel, so this place felt a little TOO far away from everything to my tastes."

"Not a very clean room; dust is everywhere. One of the nightstand lights was missing a bulb, and the chair at the desk was broken so that you couldn’t sit on it. The makeup towel was dirty. The room smelled old and muddy. The hotel needs a lot of upkeep, and it could be in better condition overall. Staff friendly. Pet-friendly. "
