"This place looks like nothing from the road. Probably an farmhouse at one point. They had some nice Christmas lights on the building to cheer it up. They are maybe 5 miles (8 km) west of Vik. The road to town goes up and over, with some switchbacks, so it could be dicey for tourists in the winter if the weather is bad. "We stayed at Farmhouse Lodge’s Chicken house for 2 days before Christmas and absolutely loved it. The Chicken house has everything- fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and bathroom. The location is wonderful since you can go and see several waterfalls and black sands beaches near by. Highly recommend to anyone who likes to explore that area of Iceland."
