"Clean room. Basic but ok for one night"

"This was a great stay lovely quiet place If we are ever in the area again we would stay again. "

"The staff is not helpful. Even though the rooms were available, they charged us extra GBP 15 for an early check in. It was very clear that we wait for 2 hours or pay. Then they gave me a accessible room ( which i did not book ). Lastly we asked them to clean the room the following day, and they just made the bed. The floor was not vacuumed, no fresh towels were put."

"The hotel is older but it had a nice layout. I wish the bathrooms didn’t have the half glass door, which is weird. We were only there over night to catch our plane in the early morning, so we didn’t get to try the breakfast since we left at 6:30 am, but my husband pointed out that there were dart boards and a bar. This would have been awesome for us had we stayed longer."

"Stayed one night when attending a wedding in the castle. Can only recommend on my visit. Looked after by Cathy from arrival until breakfast next morning. Had dinner at Crown hotel a few mins from hotel and 10% discount on food was applied for hotel guests. Mind flash the key fob to let them know before the bill is on table. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast was served and tea/ coffee top ups were no trouble if asked for. Recommend the Kirkstyle if staying in the area."

"Booked just ‘cause it fitted my travel plans but found a great wee Hotel punching well above. Dinky room but well appointed. Great restaurant with good selection on menu, delicious 2 courses served by friendly, attentive staff. Breakfast cooked fresh, best I’ve had in sometime. Very good quality for not a lot of money. Thank you for being so welcoming."

"We received a friendly welcome on arrival and our room was spacious, very clean and styled in a contemporary way. The bathroom fittings were new and had very good lighting. Breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed our stay very much. "

"a very good value for money option for those wanting to stay near glasgow. Reasonable commute by car to the city (1/2 hour or so) - suggest you go the more Country route. Local area isn’t significant, so suggest you eat in the city. Our large room got a lovely sunset, whilst sitting on a large raised couch. Quiet. (though the birds can get noisy for a bit - nothing the property can do about that though). Sheep in the garden ! Recommended."

"Lovely friendly staff and super easy parking. Our room was very hot and on checkout they said we should have had a fan but we didn’t . Pillows were like hard which I get some people may like but no alternatives in room . The floorboards were all very noisy and squeaky . We were worried we were disturbing people below . Also £5 to get any ice ! Seems a bit expensive ! It is a bit tired looking and our room could do with a refresh . But that said the staff were lovely and made the place ."
