If you love vintage hotels with a lot of character, the Historic Cary House is a fantastic place to stay. It’s located right in the heart of downtown Placerville, making it incredibly convenient to step out and explore the town.
Because it’s an authentic historic building, everything is on the older side. Just a heads-up for future guests: even though the rooms do have AC, the older infrastructure means it can still get a bit warm inside, so just come prepared for that!
That being said, the rooms were very clean, and the beds were nice and comfortable. It's a wonderful, unique spot if you want to soak up some local history!"
