Information available online about this property is very misleading. The photos show these fantastic rooms with great views but instead we were in a room not much larger than the bed in the basement with no windows...The signage when you arrive is very quick to tell you that is it NOT a hotel so there is not always staff on site. Our key fob to open the gate malfunctioned during our stay, most of our time in Sorrento was over the weekend so there was no one available to assist us. I reached out to the contact I had and they never responded. I ended up having to hop the fence to let my wife in for the rest of our time here. My wife and I stayed at a number of place across Italy during our 2 week trip and this was the worst room/"hotel" we stayed in during our trip. The most frustrating part being the disappointing reality of the accommodations after what we saw/thought we were booking online, horribly misrepresented. Would not stay here again.

Simply misleading and disproportionate. The add did not accurately depict the truthful accommodation. The main terrace in images is not apart of this accommodation and was not accessible. The accommodation was simply student accommodation at the same price vastly better hotels were. No outlook from windows, basic furniture and overall a rip off. Severely disappointed and do not recommend. No reception, or formal arrival. Breakfast was stale croissants and soft fruit. Worst accommodation I have stayed especially for what I paid more than $500 aud a night. Absolute joke

Greetings,Thanks for the review every comment is useful to improve us but when it is true.The terrace that we have in the photo is accessible to customers, however the terrace immediately next to it with a swimming pool of which we do not have photos is not accessible to our customers. Evidently you missed the entrance by a few meters and instead of asking us for explanations you preferred to find more points to review negatively. When a customer books a room he can see photos of the exact room he is booking and you have chosen the standard room with a small high window but you have been given a classic which costs more but without any extra charge and with a larger high window and you hadn't even requested a room change and you hadn't expressed disagreement with the room upon arrival, could you imagine if you went to the one you had booked? If you haven't looked at the photos in your room booking it's not our fault. We certainly don't know what you mean by student dormitory as we imagine it as a room of less than 10m2 with a bunk bed and half a desk and shared bathroom. Certainly not like the room you stayed in but unfortunately when you want to meddle there's nothing you can do.In a hotel they would have given you half the size of ours for the same price .As for the price, you paid 250 per night and you stayed 2 nights and we are in August and in Sorrento, the prices here are very high everywhere and for what you paid for the room you also saved money.And finally we are a B&B and not a hotel, as we always specify and for this reason we do not have a 24-hour reception.

First trip to Amalfi coast
The location is why I booked here and it did not disappoint, beautiful views from the terrace and jacuzzi and very short walk into town. The room and bathroom was very spacious with lots of storage, comfortable bed, A/C and nice amenities including huge rainshower. The breakfast was simple but we did not need more and loved the convenience. It is a small B&B which was fine as very quiet but no one there after 2:30 if you have any questions or problems. It made checking in stressful as we encountered heavy traffic and arrived just before they left. The number we were given to call is not in service and only way to communicate was through email in Whats Up app which would've been nice to have been told when given check in instructions.We found the main gate but no instructions once inside as to which building as there are several. Luckily Panda was still there and she came out to help us and show us around. She was very nice, does not speak English but communicated through whatsup translator. I don't know how someone would check in after hours so word of caution. The only other negative is that there are no black out curtains in room and it is extremely bright in the early morning. If I did not have a sleep mask I would not have been able to sleep. Sorrento is very charming, eat across the street at Terrazzo Sirene during sunset, Capri boat tour is a must as well as Amalfi coast. I would not go in June as we did as it was very hot and crowded everywhere we went in Italy

hi thank you so much for the nice review, it becomes difficult to help customers when they arrive at the gate and find it open and they enter and don't use the intercom so we don't know they are inside, but luckily we always communicate on whatsapp on the day of arrival and it was not a problem for the housekeeper to come out and get you. There is an iron shutter in the rooms, the one on the window that comes out from inside the wall and is lowered completely by pressing the button and does not let in even a little light. If you had informed us of the inconvenience we would have helped you.it was a pleasure to meet youGreetings

Location is amazing. The terrace, at the top of the cliff, overlooking the ocean, was spectacular. The elevator down is right next door. A continental breakfast is provided every morning, and housekeeping cleans the deck and rooms every day. The facility and staff are fantastic. The host met us at the door and gave us dining suggestions. There are 5 rooms in this unit, the host is not located on site. I gave it a 4 star for 2 reasons. 1) Initial communication with the host is a challenge. There is a narrow check in window. The Orbitz canned email response says to contact the host for other arrangements. The phone number on that email is a fax machine. I sent an Orbitz message a week prior to check in and there was no response. The only way I found to contact the host was via the regular email, and the host takes a few days to respond. 2. The door handle on our unit was so hard to turn, I was unable to open it. My husband struggled, but he was able to be the doorman for the week we were there. The other rooms did not have the same issue. Overall, we would absolutely stay there again. But I will contact the host as soon as we know when we plan to arrive and ensure we can get in.

The location and the housekeeper were the best parts. Be warned this is a b&b with only 5 rooms so there is no front desk and limited services. The patio with view was lovely. Our room was small and a box with a window hug up you couldn’t see out of. There was an over powering flowery odour so had to keep the window open all the time. It is noisy being next to the park where the access to walk down to the beach. The hot tub was closed and no advance warning given. The second day our room wasn’t made up and we were told daily housekeeping wasn’t provided due to it being a b&b. Had to ask for clean towels. Pictures can be considered misleading as looks bigger and some look like from property next door. Same outside colour of building. Breakfast included was ok. Interesting that we had coffee in room and told nice coffee maker was available all day however there were no cups. Mini fridge prices were good

Hi, thank you for your comment and we wanted to inform you that both photos of the room you booked and the information that we are not a hotel but a b&b are displayed on the portal, I don't know why you was convinced that we were a hotel. The color of the b&b is the same as the building next door because it is structurally part of that building and only has a different entrance, when you book a b&b you are aware that it could be inside a private condominium and not necessarily a unique house indeed all the b & bs are located in private parks and condominiums where other people live. As requested by you, we gave you cups for coffee and glasses for prosecco which you also used. since we are a b&b if not requested, cleaning is not carried out every day but despite this we make sure that there is clean linen in the room and we are we were surprised at the request for a change of towels as those already in your room were clean and unused but we still brought them to you outside reception hours. As for the perfume, it was enough just to unplug it and the public gardens next to the house close in the evening and I am sorry that that old man who sang once for 5 minutes in the park at 7 in the evening has bothered you so much that he wrote it in review.Sincerely

This B and B is the hidden gem of Sorrento. The Terrazza overlooking the Bay of Naples is outstanding. Rooms are spacious and staff wonderful. In a two minute walk you are in the middle of Piazza Tasso and all the shopping you can handle. On August 15th our last night in Sorrento we had prime viewing of the spectacular fireworks show from our Terrazza. It was our second stay at Terrazza 38 and will be back again. Exceptional B&B in fabulous location
Fantastic location overlooking bay of Naples. Staff very friendly and attentive. Room was nice with a very comfy bed. Had everything you needed. The place was spotlessly clean. Lovely terraces with chairs, Sun loungers etc which we often had to ourselves. Shame the hot tub didn’t open until June! Would highly recommend

Location, property, and views were spectacular. The terraces have an unparalleled view of the area and the rooms were very modern, clean, and comfortable. The only things I would comment on are that the fruit put out every morning could have been fresher, and the hot tub wasnt open.

View is spectacular. Hostesses were very helpful. Breakfast was plentiful. We were given a to go breakfast for and early tour departure. Hotel is easy walking distance to shops and train station. Common area was large and comfortable.

Excellent location. Terrace had an excellent view (although no view from the room). The included breakfast is just up the street and is amazing. Staff make every effort to help during your stay. Lots of advice on ferries, restaurants, etc...

Great location. Right in the heart of old town Sorrento. Amazing views from balcony. Room was spacious and clean. No breakfast facilities on site, but they provide a voucher for a full breakfast at an excellent cafe that is a short walk away. A little difficult to find when driving from Naples.

From the moment we pressed the buzzer at the gate till when we handed the keys back the staff could not have done more for us. The room was clean and quiet and had everything that we needed. It was an excellent location and the views over Sorrento port and surrounding area was breath taking from the B&Bs garden balcony.

A+, what a great place to stay!!
Genuinely have nothing negative to say. Staying at La Terrazza 38 was the best decision I could have made. Could not ask for better service and a more clean and welcoming place to stay. Unbelievable views, great breakfast at MoMo cafe and all round brilliant. Location was also excellent. Delia was so helpful with everything! I’d highly recommend this place.

Best experience ever
Our stay was amazing and made even more special by the staff of La Terrazza 38. They have a beautiful accommodation with incredible terraces overlooking the coast. The business is family-owned and operated, and the staff really makes you feel welcome. During our trip, we visited other nice places like Rome, Milan, Cinque Terre, Florence, Dubrovnik, Ljubljana, Bled, but Sorrento was the best. I really think the staff made all the difference in the world. Thank you to Delia and to the Gargiulo family!

The property was located in a prime area of Sorrento. The terrace overlooking the bay of Naples is spectacular. The breakfast was outstanding and the service second to none. The facility was extremely clean, safe and a short walk 1 minute walk to the best shopping and restaurants.

We had an amazing experience here! Our travels to get there were a bit delayed but Carmen met us there with no problem to greet us and show us to our rooms. The rooms were very clean and spacious. We woke up to a full breakfast spread and coffee out on the terrace with amazing views! Amazing location and wonderful staff. We will definitely stay here again.
