"It’s a dirty dump! The pool was gross (bugs, chipped concrete, full trash, and trash in the bushes). The fitness center was a sauna - the air conditioning didn’t work and it was 80 degrees in there according to the thermostat. They said they were having someone come “next week” to fix it. They didn’t even have towels in there. When we checked in, the woman wouldn’t give us an extra blanket - said we could just turn down our AC. She also said there was nowhere to get water even though there is a filtered water dispenser in the sauna/fitness center. The elevator was very dirty and a tripping hazard on the 1st floor as it dips down for a few seconds and then comes back up, so don’t step out quickly. We also had to replace our room keys multiple times as they would work a few times and then not work. I think we ended up with 5 or 6 keys by the end of our 4 night stay. Our relatives stayed next door at the Holiday Inn and I can say that their fitness center and pool were better. The air conditioning was good and the bed was very comfortable. Besides the woman at check-in, the other staff was very friendly."

"We were very disappointed with the Holiday Inn in Columbus, Texas. I would not recommend this property to anyone! This hotel needs to be refurbished or remodeled or leveled and start over. This Holiday Inn is not like any other Holiday Inn we have stayed in. I suggest management go spend two nights in this property. See what I'm saying. Disappointing!!! Holiday Inn - You can do better... ...Kay Shiflet"

"Clean Towel had wad of black hair inside when opened to use after shower. I’m bald and my wife is a blonde, not ours. Second towel was stained with black marks, but appeared otherwise clean. Traded them in for cleanish towels after realizing they were not fully clean. Floor was so dirty that both my wife and I took a wash cloth to wipe off our feet after shower so as to avoid black marks when we got in bed. Floors were laminate but didn’t appear to have been mopped correctly. Refrigerator didn’t work, so had to throw out medicine after overnight temp dropped below storage limit. Pleasant staff. Price was low and I should have realized that the standards were probably reflective of price. Beds were okay and lights and outlets worked. Very loud from rooms above and on either side."
