We just got back from St John's and would highly recommend Balmoral House. Room had a wonderful view of the harbour and the room was comfortable and cozy. David is a great host. Breakfast was continental style and was a great start to each day. Easy to get to restaurants and shops in the downtown. Wonderful- we hope to stay here again.

This place is highly recommended! Calm, clean, beautiful interior design. Good breakfast. The host is very hospitable and made me pancakes just because I fancied one morning! My friend and I loved our stay! You just got to avoid the late night/early morning walks around the downtown and that is the only downside to the city - not to this place. We had almost an incident, however, we'll definitely book the Balmoral House for the next trip! It's worth it! :)

This property was centrally located a short walk to the Rooms. Only 10 minutes from Geotge Street. Nice snacks and a full breakfast provided. Harbour view from our room

Easy 15 minute drive from St. John's airport by taxi or Uber. Great location for walkable convenience to downtown restaurants, pubs, The Rooms. Continental breakfast is just what you need to start the day, but the best part is the warm hospitality shown by the hosts. They take great pride in keeping the place immaculately clean, being responsive to inquiries and doing their best to make sure your St. John's visit is simply delightful.

I would highly recommend this property! Amazing and informative hosts, quiet property, very clean and welcoming, wonderful breakfast, walking distance to the downtown restaurants and bars and just a short drive to some amazing sites! Our host, Dave, and Cherrie were both amazing: welcoming, attentive and offering helpful tips. The house has been lovingly restored and is in a great location: 6 min. walk from the Rooms and easy walking distance to the main downtown sites. Would definitely stay again.

On registering, we received a parking permit for our car, so we could park on the local streets. The manager was very friendly, and gave us a nice breakfast each morning. The room was a good size, and the bed was very comfortable. We left a camera battery charger in the bathroom, and the hotel staff contacted us immediately and tried to return it to us. They were very helpful and sympathetic.

Lovely Bed and Breakfast close to downtown St. John's. Our host provided parking passes which enabled us to park on certain streets in the area free. A variety of breakfast items were available. Close proximity to restaurants and shopping. Quiet and comfortable.

This property is lovely. David, our host, is very friendly and knowledgeable. He knows how to run a great B&B. There are only four rooms, two on the second floor and two on the third. No elevator so you have to be able to navigate the stairs. Permit parking was right out front. Very steep walk to the downtown area. Homeless hung out in the park just one house away.

There was no service desk on the premises - the communication was done over the phone or through notes in an envelope. Once you walk in there are sign saying to remove footwear, which was extremely inconvenient each time you needed to go and from your room. The are 4 flights of stairs you have to walk up if your room is on the top floor, with no option for an elevator. The room we stayed in was so small that two suitcases took up the entire floor space. The breakfast consisted of bread and cereal. The toilet paper was thin and cheap. We stayed for 4 nights and felt extreme claustrophobia by the end of our stay. Overall wouldn’t recommend for the price you pay.
