Beautiful B and B

My friend at I thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at the Narrows B And B. The room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. We had delicious breakfasts each morning and very much enjoyed our chats with Anna and Lisa. The location for this B and B is fantastic as it’s close to lots of great restaurants and downtown shopping.

It was perfect from the moment we entered The Narrows Bed and Breakfast until we left. It felt like a home away from home. Lovely rooms and dining room. Spotless. They were very obliging in ensuring we saw the best sights of the island. We started the mornings with a delicious breakfast before setting out for our day. They recommended restaurants, dinner theatre and tours. We throughly enjoyed O'Brien's Boat Tours. The island is a must see. We were centrally located and walked to everything with the exception of outside the downtown core. Driving is particularly easy in St. John's. Minimal traffic everywhere. We would recommend this B & B to everyone.

Ann & Lisa were extremely friendly and pleasant. Very welcoming as well! My stay at The Narrows was an excellent experience as I would not hesitate to stay there again while visiting St. John's. Overall experience 10 out of 10.

An outstanding stay. As quiet or involved as you want it to be. You’re close enough to the downtown to walk almost anywhere, but can retreat to a quiet room at night. Start your day with a delicious home cooked breakfast around a table with other like minded guests. Sharing in the combined wisdom of your hosts along with the recent experiences of the other guests. Who are often from around the world. To say nothing of the fact that you’re staying in one of the most picturesque areas of “Jelly Bean” homes.

Superb!!!

I was just there with my son . The place and location are fantastic. The room and common area impeccable. The breakfasts were very good. The owner , Anne is an absolute gem... I really recommend this place , we had a wonderful time. Next time we go to St-Johns, for sure we will stay there !!!

Great location and staff!

A 2 minute walk to Duckworth and Water st. Lisa and Ann(owner) are warm and full of recommendations for side trips and restaurants. Daily breakfasts were varied and delicious! A very enjoyable 3 night stay in a very well located jellybean house.

Good location. Near shops restaurants and historic

Host was not overly friendly . Main door difficult to unlock. Breakfast was good but would have enjoyed some fruit. Cook\server pleasant and helpful re.site seeing options. No mention was made regarding stairs to dining space or bedrooms, in any literature we received. Was surprised that the beds were not remade after the first night. The room was very small and there was no space to place suit cases when unpacking except on the bed and then stored under the bed.

Authentic and welcoming B&B close to downtown

The Narrows is a beautiful 3 story colourful row house within a block or two of a lively and fun downtown area with lots of shops and restaurants. We loved the location. The owner Ann was very helpful in ensuring our stay was exceptional, letting us and all the other guests know how to maximize their time in St John's. We were on the third floor which meant a lot of stairs to climb, not so good for elderly, but we managed. The room was spacious and the ensuite washroom was well equipped. Ann continually upgrades the rooms and lobby/living rooms and they are beautifully decorated and up to date. Her staff (we met Shirley and Lisa) were eager to help, and so kind. Free parking and good wifi also.

Very nice B and B. Very close to downtown. Very clean and quiet. Could walk to downtown. But the breakfast really was not up to par. First day was 3 very tough pancakes. Hard to even cut. Next day was canned beans and salt fish cakes that the fish was left out of. Ann was very nice and helpful. Would stay again but would eat out.

Gem on the Rock

No surprises. Clean and comfortable. The owner is proud of her place and keeps it in excellent condition. Good breakfast. Well located and walking distance to local resto/stores. Parking on the street available. I'm saving this address!!

Great location in town

Overall a great place to stay. Hearty breakfast provided, with good coffee! Pleasant atmosphere and helpful, informative host. Common area includes chairs/couch to sit and read. Lots of info available about St John's. Street is up the hill from main streets. Note - rooms and dining area not accessible - access by stairs.
