"Room was clean but very dated with many signs of wear - rust on the shower and towel heater, mould around the silicon on the sink . Old fashioned alarm clock which was so bright and unable to turn off was annonying and had to be covered with a towel. The shared areas and outside also feel dated and showed main signs of wear. Staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was Ok."

"This hotel exceeded my expectations. When you entered, the first thing that greets you is the fresh smell. Everything was so clean. Greeted by a staff member who spoke like he was in the ritz hotel. Old fashioned customer service. Wonderful! Room was clean, even the toiletries in the bathroom were good quality. Restaurants nearby. So pleased that we found this gem! Wouldn’t hesitate to go back."

"I usually use Hilton hotels but noticed that this place was getting excellent reviews, so I booked for my one-night stay in Lincoln. Great start. Luke at the front desk gave a warm, genuine welcome without any 'corporate speak' that sometimes sounds like it's from a script. Room very clean with good amenities - has the feel of a company that knows how to please and takes trouble to maintain a high standard. The inclusive breakfast deserves a special mention - brilliant value and far better...

"Very Comfortable room and easy check in and out. Really nice surroundings, and good local walks. Pub was handy if a bit dated, great band in the garden and a lovely breakfast. Would go back if I need to be in the area again"

"We had a wonderful stay at the Rest. The bed was so comfortable, There was everything provided for your comfort. Good quality products. Nice table and chairs on the balcony. Drinks were brought up to us from the cafe/bar. Nothing was too much trouble. Parking is a little walk away but that's the small price for staying so central. Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be staying here again when in Lincoln"

"Expedia should be ashamed to charge for accommodation in what was a hostel for vagrants. During the period that access was unavailable to us, a neighbour told us that the Hamilton was used to house council-sent people, and we saw three such unfortunate people waiting to enter. My wife was frightened by the property when access was eventually gained, describing it as being like her idea of a prison, and I found it forbidding and inhospitable. "Good location, fairly large car park,for which you are charged £7 a night ,(which i don't agree with) the breakfast is good, and plenty of choice, the general feel of the hotel is a little tired, which is a shame. rooms ok but feel a bit neglected, but clean enough, would use again if staying in Lincoln"
