Although the property required updating and attention, the staff were very helpful and caring. My mum took ill during our stay and the staff were amazing and helpful. A great team in a hotel with so much potential and quiet surroundings. Very peaceful 😌

Staff were so friendly. Stayed two nights with my 14 year old son. £10 for a leisure pass to use gym, pool, sauna and steam room. Pool tables and darts were available, lovely pub attached to the hotel with live sports and entertainment. 10 minute drive to pubs and restaurants although seen people order food to the hotel. 20 minute drive to Trentham monkey forest which was great, also drove past an ice cream parlour

This is the worst hotel I have stayed on. We were put in the motel part, like pontins but 20 years older! Front door had light shining through it, light was hanging with loose wires, dead flies, spiders, cob webs, stains on sheets, bed side lights no light bulbs, grouting yellow in bathroom and windows held in with lose paint I did ring to complain but they weren't interested. The hole building needs knocking down. I got an email to say it's being refurbished, and to bear with them. If you are sccept8gursts it needs to be right. I would be interested to see their electrical certificate,,!!!!!

Excellent value for money and what the place lacked in terms of maintenance and upkeep is more than made up for in the range of facilities and friendliness of staff. It’s a huge place to upkeep and would likely swallow £1m to fully renovate and refurbish …so doubtless the owners are hoping for a big lotto win like the rest of us.

Hotel is very dated but the bed and room were clean. Tv didn’t work but reported on checking out. You get what you pay for and the rooms were cheap so I couldn’t have any complaints. Just used it for a base for Alton towers

2 night stay 1st night power cut and 2nd night an 18th birthday rave. The landlord of the adjacent pub absolutely outstanding service and care. There was entertainment on the Saturday night with an outstanding singer. Great night. However the hotel had a private 18th birthday rave which they didn’t inform us of and we experienced 3 hours of heavy dance music that made room vibrate and caused cups to fall off table. Overall a good stay would have been great but for not knowing or getting offered alternative rooms.

You get what you pay for in life, good price for what you get but the air conditioning situation was horrible in the 20 odd degree heat in our room. I would recommend to bring a fan. I would definitely use this hotel again as the swimming pool was great and has a gym and nice outside area aswell as friendly lovely staff.

Stayed here for 2 nights found the staff not very chatty or friendly, room is very dated and had stains on the curtains and on the mattress protecter , black stain on the pillows , could have done with some chairs on the balcony too , location was very good and very quiet,I know it’s a old building but some modernising in the rooms would be good .we didn’t use any off the facilities as we was only there for a family emergency.but wouldn’t stay again
