"If your preference is for a modern purpose built hotel, then the Morar hotel might not be for you. It does however offer a spectacular building with feature packed rooms downstairs with grand staircases up to the bedrooms, very clean, modern bathroom in the bedroom we had, unbelievable views from many of the bedroom windows and great food. The staff (Nadia, Tuan, Akram and Trenton) were very friendly and helpful. The location, immediately opposite the station was ideal for us on our railway...

"Friendly and helpful staff, along with a decent dinner menu in the bar were the highlights. Skimpy breakfast with awful coffee. Room was dated. Pancake pillows. Cramped shower. Walls are thin and could hear neighbors’ phone alarms and opening/closing room doors all morning. Unable to sleep after 5am. Dinner in the restaurant was fully booked by a large group when checking in. Would not stay here again."

"Slightly odd self check in system, especially given I was thinking this would be a conventional bed-and-breakfast or guesthouse experience. We skipped the breakfast offered based on others' reviews. There are some nice options in Portree and other nearby coffee shops and bakeries. The room was spacious and functional. The location is convenient for anyone who just wants to get onto Skye without having to drive any further, especially if having driven from a long distance such as from Inverness....

"There are a few on street parking areas right in front that are available to use between 6pm - 8/9:00 am. The rooms are above a bar but it closed down around 11:00. Any room on the third floor is the quietest, but very hot and there are no fans. While the window opens, it took forever to cool down and never really got below 72 to sleep. We stayed in late June. There was no air conditioning. The included breakfast is for hearty meat lovers and while they offered a vegetarian option, they were...

"The accommodations were very clean and well suited for a super relaxing stay with incredible views of the Raasay straight. Staff was amazing and the dinner and breakfasts were very well prepared. Incredible place to stay! I would highly recommend it."

"This is a great hotel and would stay there again. Only complaint is pictures on expedia do not match the assigned room. Example, we booked a room with a clawfoot bathtub that also had more windows. The front desk staff acknowledged the pictures do not match the rooms. Overall, great property."
