"Stayed one night at the Renaissance Providence Downtown Hotel while in town for my daughter's lacrosse tournament, and overall had a very good experience. The hotel itself is beautiful and full of character, as it's housed in the historic former Masonic Temple. The architecture and common areas really stand out and give the property a unique feel. "Room was expensive. Air conditioner ran all night and was extremely loud and disruptive. There was some kind of strobe on the ceiling (smoke or co alarm) that was super bright. You get coffee in the morning. The only positive was the guys in valet parking who were helpful! Never again, aloft"

"This hotel was just okay. Nothing special. The staff was fine. Not particularly friendly. The hotel does NOT have complimentary breakfast nor do they have a pool. They have a very modest snack area and parking is $36+ extra. I think some of the info may be getting crossed over since there are 2 marriots downtown... I also noticed they had cookies they gave away to those who checked in around 5pm but when we checked in around 3/4pm they did not. Don't stay here if you have kids - its adequate but...

"I have stayed here many times and this was our worst experience. No hot water in the shower, the mini fridge was not clean and there was a bowl of rotten guacamole left in there, and the room overall was very outdated and not clean."

"Amazing 2 night stay. Had some issues with check in but was a honest mistake by a staff member and they went over and beyond to make it right. Hotel has just went through renovations so everything is new and modern. The room was big, great views and very clean. Breakfast in the lobby was convenient and tasty, went both mornings. Parking was very convenient and adequate. Great spot to walk to local bars and restaurants. Will be staying again."

"We were on the road for nearly two weeks and this was the nicest place we stayed. Another guest hit a button they thought would shutdown the fire pit on the patio, but it activated the fire alarm for the building. It woke us up and we had to evacuate. The fire department responded and cleared the code so we could return in a reasonable time. The room was great as was the breakfast. I highly recommend this facility."

Front Desk was always pleasant and helpful, always smiled. Room cleanliness has some work to be done -- it made me chuckle I was there for 3 nights -- the first morning...
