"Arrived and nobody was at front desk for check in. No sign saying “be right back” or anything. Waited quite awhile and finally called hotel main number. Was told he went to lunch and keys were on desk. That’s fine but why didn’t you text me to let me know that before we arrived? Or left a note at the desk? Would have prevented confusion and waiting around. Also did not get the room as described on the website. Even though the hotel was empty yet they couldn’t have given us a room with a partial view as described? We had a view of an empty lot. I’m convinced when you book with a third party like Expedia or Hotels.com they intentionally give you the worst rooms no matter what room type you booked. No info given about anything including how to use heater etc so took awhile to figure it out and then it stopped working in the middle of the night and we were freezing. Texted hotel about this since they say you can text them for any needs during your stay, yet nobody ever responded. It was as if the hotel wasn’t physically staffed by anyone. That’s fine for some people but we like having people welcome us at arrival and be available if things come up during our stay. Don’t think that is much to ask. Ever since COVID this contactless everything has remained and it’s not for us. If we knew there would be no staff or service and it was fully self serve then we could have decided to stay elsewhere, which now we know. The hotel has cute decor and the bed is comfy so I’ll give them that. "
