"Beautiful hotel with stunning sea views, wish we had stayed longer. Misty Waves was one of the standout hotels of our South African trip. Although we only stayed for one night, we left wishing we had booked longer to enjoy both the hotel and spend more time exploring Hermanus itself. The whole property is beautiful, with a relaxed boutique feel and stunning views. Our room was exceptionally spacious, beautifully decorated and overlooked the sea, making it a real highlight of our stay. The reception staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful throughout. Combined with the quality of the accommodation and location, it made for a memorable stay that we would happily recommend to anyone visiting Hermanus."

The Ivy Apartments

"The apartment at The Ivy is a wonderful "home away from home" . The location is perfect as it is on the main road where you can shop, eat & browse. The apartment is serviced every day & the staff are unobtrusive , giving you time to laze around in the morning before they come. This property would probably have earned 5 stars , if not for 2 minor downfalls : 1. There are no flat/top sheets on the beds. Given the heat of Franschhoek, it would be great to have the option of only covering oneself with a sheet; 2. The apartment which we had stayed in window blinds are not easy to open & close. The one blind to the balcony couldn't close & the light from the signage outside "The Ivy" shines rights into the Main bedroom. I think that even with the blinds closed, it would still shine through. Overall though, this a fantastic property choice for a weekend away or even for tourists. It is tastefully furnished & the owners have definitely thought of almost everything ."

"Best room I've ever lived in around this location. It was spacious, clean, with a nice view. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. Don't forget to try their signature gin cocktails. It was phenomenon. The bartender was friendly and we had a great chat with him to know more about the country."
