Excellent place to stay for a new comer! Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Everything you need is walking distance and beach just across the street!

Lets start with the good... Location was perfect, right across from the beach and 5 minute walk to closest grocery store. Cool people working there and were helpful. Met some really cool travelers from around the world, really chill vibe there, but certainly more of a young party crowd. Lots of fun activities planned. Wine an cheese night, pizza night, and a great guided walk to Coogee beach. Definitely could be a lot better. There are NOT enough bathrooms for the amount of people. Only two private toilets on each floor - other toilet was in the female shower room - So three possible toilets for females on a floor with at least 20-30 others. Gotta get up early to use them and the sinks are small and annoying when your trying to wash your face or brush your teeth. There also weren't any hooks in any of the toilet rooms, could be quite an easy fix and makes a huge difference. The kitchen was always crowded, so unless you go in at odd hours, you'll be fighting for space, so I would just go down, look in the kitchen and almost immediately walk out and get take away, which adds up. Also, not the hostels issue because they keep all the tags of food they've taken, but someone took my groceries out of the fridge, which I had just enough for my last breakfast before checkout...had to spend 15 at McDonalds for coffee and sandwich because breakfast everywhere else was 20 . The rooms were decent sizes, and thankfully they are on top of vacuuming/cleaning due to lots of sand.

Très propre, très bien entretenu. Pas beaucoup de service, juste une cuisine, une salle de télévision pas très agréable et un roof top sans charme. Rapport qualité/ prix élevé juste pour une chambre avec salle de bain commune

Great staff, new and clean, awesome location. The rooftop is incredible, great view. Unfortunately there are few comfortable places to sit. The rooftop has nice seating but if the weather is bad or after the rooftop closes for the day, all inside areas are particularly uncomfortable. All common areas are also closed at 10pm, leaving only a few uncomfortable benches near reception available.

Bondi Backpackers is THE place to stay on the beach. The best staff, excellent location, and perfect vibe.

On check-in we were informed there may be some building work on floor 2 but not to worry as we were on floor 3. It was in fact floor 3 which was a complete building site. In the corridor there was no carpet, builders walking around and their equipment around our room door. In the room we had no blinds or curtains, there was an extremely strong paint smell and scaffolding directly outside the window. For obvious security reasons we were unable to leave the window open to help the paint smell, not to mention the clear invasion of privacy with the window being directly behind the bed. I asked for a temporary window blind which could not be provided. As it was late we could not find another room but were informed the manager would be there the following morning and we would be able to receive a refund for the remaining nights. The next morning we woke at 6am to the sound of builders shouting over their drills. On checking out the manager was completely unapologetic. I have since read other reviews where this building work was mentioned as a problem 5 months ago. I certainly should have been informed of this work upon booking or at least by email following this. These rooms should not be available and certainly not at full price whilst building work continues. As this building work is not advertised prior to arrival it seems the hotel is trying to deceive its guests in the hope they pay anyway...

I booked a single room at 2nd floor and it’s was very basic with a wall fan but it’s fine for me. I didn’t feel cold or warm. This backpacker hostel is surprisingly not noisy. The wifi worked well in my room too. The toilet and shower room were always clean. There are many free activities in this hostel. Overall, the stay was good.

There was so much construction and although they were apologetic, they began work drilling beside the room at around 7 am all day. One day the door to the room was being fixed and was propped open all day. Next, due to construction most bathrooms and showers were out of service. I waited forever just to get in. I think once construction is done the place will be great again. Lots to do, planned events, close to the beach. The construction really ruined it for me!

Great for a one night stay
It offered everything I needed and, having read some reviews of the place, I knew what to expect. It was clean, easy to check in and well located to Bondi beach. The only downside, as other reviews observe, is there is no air conditioning, just a big fan, which does the job, but not as well as air conditioning. However, fine for a night or two.

A Great experience for a Groovy Granny!
Staff friendly & helpful esp. Jamie. The young people from around the world at the rooftop BBQ were awesome. Young Groovy Granny" of 72, was cared for and felt very young at heart! The view of Bondi Beach from the rooftop was amazing! Thanks guys from Ireland & Finland for supporting the Peace Project Remembrance Event on the Beach.

Nice place with nice furniture
Very nice old building. Double room was small but charming. Bathroom and shower area was in common with all the floor but we didn’t quewed at all. So great! Blu sheets and towels very nice, comfortable bed. We recommend it, thanks a lot

The hostel is very nice and has a chilled out atmosphere. The kitchen is always clean albeit a little small. The rooms are a good size and the free wifi is fantastic. Would stay again.

Fantastic Location. Exactly as Advertised.
The hotel is EXACTLY as ADVERTISED. You get a bad to sleep on at night. The location is fantastic, better than the 4/5 star hotels in Bondi. I had a private room. Thin walls so you hear everything. I got it for $50USD nightly so I was happy. I would not pay over $60USD for it. All in all, if you like hostels / backpackers this place is about as good as it gets. It goes out of its way to engage the guests.
