"We have thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at The Barnsdale. Everything was relaxed but perfectly executed. We particularly enjoyed the great food at both breakfast and evening meal in the orangery. Pre dinner drinks in the courtyard were also very pleasant. The only constructive criticism we would make is the outside tables were at times dirty with coffee stains and bird poo."

"Lovely place, we had a lake view room and it was beautiful, room 513. From our balcony we could see a colony of young housemartins, who were nesting under the eves, flying around and back to their nests, just lovely. My husband has problems walking, we called reception to ask if the buggy could pick him up and it was there within minutes. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. The menu in the restaurant was a bit limited, but we found something we liked. Breakfast had plenty of choice, however for me, the eggs were overdone and the bacon was streaky. Overall, a lovely weekend and a beautiful place to stay."

"Overall we had a great time and for the price we paid I do feel it was great value for money. Pros: friendly staff, clean room, great food, great history of the building and the pool and steam room was amazing. Breakfast was superb! Cons: (but nothing bad that would stop me going again just slight tweaks I feel would help) grounds are amazing but need some attention, sauna was either not working properly or was simply running too low, food and staff in Huntleys restaurant were fab however the room the restaurant in is so nice little things like wires hanging down the wall and seats where the view was let it down, the space could be used a lot better. I feel it’s a solid high end 3 star hotel and misses the critical touches of a 4 star however I’ve given it a 4 purely down to the staff as they were so accommodating."
