"Seriously, if you want to experience the feel and flavor and the essence of the Gold Rush era of the Eastern Sierra Nevada, stay at the Bodie Motel in Bridgeport, California. This period Hotel is a true gym hidden right before your eyes as you drive down 395. It was moved from Bodie the famous goal town in Mono County to his current location many years ago. It has the feel of being in a ghost town. The owners are doing a tremendous job of restoration and restoration recovery to help sustain its longevity. The staircases are tiny for the people that were of that period in time but easy to access to your rooms on the second floor with a spectacular blue View of the eastern Sierras from your balcony rooms. So if you really are into history, and love the stepping back in time of the California Gold Rush 1880s, this is an experience that you'll never forget. The owners are beyond belief helpful and friendly and just are so nice. Jeff will talk your ear off. But the energy and the love that he has for his establishment comes from the heart. And you'll just be completely part of the experience with him."

"I loved staying at Virginia Creek settlement. I stayed in a tent cabin, which is definitely simple, and not as warm, but they explain that thoroughly before arriving, and that's all I wanted. But at the same time, the room was very clean, the bed, very comfy, plenty of blankets. There's a little kitchen you can use and the bathroom was very clean, plenty of hot running water. The staff was so friendly and great breakfast on site. I also felt very comfortable with the obviously liberal ideologies, while proudly displaying an American flag. They also had a no hate sign and gender, neutral bathrooms. I would say my only real complaints would be that, it is right next to the road, so there is some traffic noise, but this is very light during the night, just early Sunday morning. The loud motorcycles started; and while they offered plenty of coffee, I'm not a coffee drinker! I would've liked a few teabags as most places offer. But they do give you a little baggie with supplies to make s'mores in the gas, fire pit associated, and food to feed the fish in the trout farm on site! The gurgling stream behind was also pleasant. Cute little place, and really nice people, budget friendly. I would stay again."

"The area of June Lake is beautiful. Hotel was very clean and within walking distance of stores and restaurants. Evidently there are many size rooms. We went in our neighbors and it was amazing. Large, spacious, full kitchen, just great. Unfortunately, ours had to have been the smallest unit they have. Barely enough room for my wife and I and our suitcase. We needed to rearrange things to accommodate our luggage. I’m sure this was because we were only staying one night. Our neighbors were staying a week. I would have rated motel a 5 if only our room was a touch larger."
