Elkin City Park

Elkin Municipal Park Pool in Elkin, North Carolina. This pool is THE place to be in the warmer months of the year. It is where all the kids and teenagers go in their free time to swim, dive, eat, and hang out. It’s dingy appearance does not reflect the joy and fun that comes with this pool. The pool and park are the epicenter for kids because there is not much else for them to do. We like to think that having a wide variety of things to do is better but sometimes have a couple simple things can still bring great joy to those experiencing them.

Elkin Municipal Park in Elkin, North Carolina. There is a tiny stream that goes through the park and this bridge connects the playground to the picnic area and community center. This picture out of context makes the area seem a bit worn down and old since the bridge itself looks worn down. However, in reality, it’s worn down because it is used so much by kids and their parents. Throughout Elkin, there are newer things and things that tend to look a bit more quaint. These 2 views live in harmony to give Elkin the unique and special aesthetic it has.
