"For £60 a night I had a clean and comfy bed, a hot shower, and a tea and coffee station. The staff were friendly and helpful. Yes, it is a little noisy and crooked, but it's an old pub with normal pub hours so that's to be expected. I'm a female in my early 30s travelling on my own and I felt very safe and welcomed. Good choice of relatively local (less than 10 miles) public houses for evening fare. Already hoping to get back there when next visiting the Lakes, which start only six miles north."
