We thought the main bedding could be better with a bit more blackout curtain/blinds as the ambient lights outside were on for a longer period at night - these are some feedback for the sake of it. "The lady owner was friendly and lovely from the moment I arrived. I was made to feel very welcome and was even treated to a plate of home made biscuits. The bed was comfy and I had an amazing night's sleep. Breakfast was served at a time that was convenient to me and everything was very fresh. The bread and jam were also home made. The property is in a very quiet location and in lovely gardens and provides a great place to stay during a visit to the lake district. "

"Shap Wells was an unexpected gem! The hotel was wonderfully decorated with stained glass and an “old world” feel. The room and hotel was clean and the food was excellent! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking space was generous and we certainly felt safe! Beautiful place to stay with an interesting history!"
