Ingonish Chalets

8/10 Good
"This was a lovely cabin and very clean. However, it was very disconcerting to have to boil the water for use and to have to use bottled water to drink and cook. We didn't feel comfortable even showering with the water knowing it had bacteria in it. I would suggest the host invest in ultraviolet lights to address the bacteria in the water."

Castle Rock Country Inn

10/10 Excellent
"We enjoyed our brief stay at the Castle Rock Country Inn. Staff (Shane at front desk and kitchen staff) were friendly and helpful. While the decor is somewhat dated (who cares) the room was very clean. Bed was comfy. Nice dining room with full breakfast offering was great and the view is spectacular! I would definitely stay there again."

The Mountain View Motel & Cottages

8/10 Good
"This is such a cute little cottage like room. Marginally eclectic in a good way. The room shows some wear from many travellers passing through but that didn't bother us. Everything felt clean and cozy. The only thing you should be aware of is the queen bed we had has outlived its time. It is super soft and sags to the middle. However, I would take that over a hard bed any day. Staff were so great and there is a restaurant right on site for all meals and is reasonably priced. Really enjoyed our time here and would recommend this stay!"

Island Sunset Resort

8/10 Good
"Great room, very spacious and in good condition. It looks like they may have had a fairly recent renovation. The bed was very comfortable and the area very quiet (except for the howling wind)! Only gave it a 4 star for cleanliness as I found some used tissues under the nightstand which precipitated me to look under the bed. I could see a few things underneath and a layer of dust. However the rest of the room appeared to be clean. Despite this, I would still recommend staying here."

Big Intervale Fishing Lodge

Big Intervale Fishing Lodge

10/10 Excellent
"Ruth and Herman made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in the door! This place is beautiful!! The leaves were stunning. The rooms were comfortable and had nice touches like bowls and plates. And glasses and ceramic mugs for coffee. We didn’t get to eat at the restaurant bc it was closed but if we go back we definitely will. It is homey and Ruth was baking homemade bread as we checked out. She was so accommodating in every way. Very kind and helpful. The stream behind the cabin is breath taking. The drive there is beautiful in the fall, but it takes about 30 minutes on the dirt road and you need to be careful of the potholes. Arrive before dark if possible."

"Recenty stayed for a night on Chetticamp Island and they are correct. It is a beautiful view. We were suppossed to stay a night in a large 5th wheel trailer but there was a wind warning so the owner upgraded us to one of their cabins. The cabin was excelent and has everythng you need. I would definitly stay here again when traveling around cape breton."
