"This is a delightful small hotel in Kinigi, close to the Gorilla Experience headquarters. The rooms are in spacious huts with a fire and hot water bottles provided at night as it gets quite cold. The staff are extremely polite and helpful, lighting fires in the lounge and dining room at sunset and with little portable fires for each table. The setting is rustic and charming with 4 star facilities and don’t forget the wonderful complimentary foot massage and shoe cleaning after the gorilla trek....

"The house is a 15-20’ walk from the center. Difficult to communicate with the lady (no French, little English) but her husband speaks fluent French. Excellent breakfast, clean and spacious room."

"I had a great time at Virunga Homestay, I initially only booked for a few nights but then stayed over a week. Francis is a very considerate, helpful, and accommodating host. The place is very clean, spacious and quiet. The homestay has good wifi and warm showers and the breakfast was wonderful, I highly recommend it. I will definitely come back. "

"I booked a small single room which was perrfectly adequate for my needs. The wifi was challenging, but the reception worked on it and got it to work for me. Very friendly and helpful staff, the food was good, and they were open to fix us something not on the menu. "Beautiful hotel well located for hikes in the area. We stayed in the large cottage which is a very nice spacious option for families. Staff was very kind and accommodating (always went the extra mile) and as others have noted the food was really excellent. Light and healthy and tasted very fresh—the best food we had in Rwanda. "
