The mandatory destination fee felt buried in the policy details rather than reflected clearly in the advertised price. When travelers search by price, hotels know that the headline number matters. Adding mandatory fees separately makes the listing appear more competitive than it really is. Once the destination fee and parking were included, the total cost was much higher than expected and not far off...
