"Front desk folks are wonderful!"

"By far my worst Holiday Inn experience. Cockroaches, leftover foods in the room, a dollop of that brown/oily/smelly food on the furniture in the room, no hot water in the morning, garbage in the halls, loud repairs in the next room, delapidated fixtures and furniture, and zero sympathy for the trouble. They want to extract the value from the land and Holiday Inn brand at your expense and horror. I called to complain multiple times, because no one was at the check out desk. No answer."

"Was a fairly clean property within a short walk or ride to a number of shops and restaurants. I was placed by a room with a loud baby all afternoon and evening. I told the receptionist they should have placed the family away from the main area, further to the back of the property. The whole family was loud and the walls were paper thin. I could here the woman talking or arguing loudly too. I had a long flight, had unpacked and wanted to nap...but it was impossible. The receptionist offered to...

"I ALWAYS stay at this hotel when I'm in Evanston. Though I'm accustomed to the trains passing through, my partner (doesn't always travel to this hotel with me) noted that he was disturbed by the noise. I appreciate that public transit is so easily accessible. Everything is in walking distance and Evanston is pleasantly walkable. The buffet breakfast is affordable and tasty. You really can't go wrong with this hotel."

"Beware of ftaudulent added costs by their parking. Told me $108 for 2 days and charged me $159.. got scammed!"

"Breakfast menu was bolid eggs, bagels, yogurt, cereal, and oatmeal packs. No microwave in the room. You have to stand on the toilet to use the sink. Staff knocked on the door at 8 am to "kick" you out when check out is at 11am. Definitely the worst stay I've ever experienced. "

"I just booked a room for a place to rest my head, because I had to be at a conference the next morning. I honestly thought it was overpriced, but it was the cheapest place I came across. The check in process took a while to get my key. The Inn policy was NO SMOKING and fees would be charged if you smoked in the room, they even charged me another $100 for a deposit, to make sure we didn't smoke. To get some sleep it was alright, I I wouldn't book a room to stay in for a week."

"I loved the convenience of the location to Loyola university. It was walking distance. The host was very nice and responsive. I loved that there were snack and breakfast left out in the kitchen for guest to consume at their leisure. What I did not like was the steep long stairs to get up to the rooms. There was not an elevator or anyone available to help get the luggage up to the rooms. If you are elderly with knees or back problems, this will be difficult for you to deal with on a daily...

"Everything was great, except the sky walk was so hot."

"The staff at the front desk were very nice. What I did not love about my room was that, aside from it being rather small, it was somewhat dusty and not well vacuumed. The bathroom was clean, however. Unfortunately, the bathroom was so small that it was very hard to comfortably use the toilet. And the tub was slippery and small so taking a shower was a bit difficult as well. The Orrington used to be considered one of the better hotels in Evanston, but I was not very impressed with the room."
