"I have booked this hotel twice a year for the last five years. I'm a creature of habit, and I need to know what to expect when arriving at a location. I request the same room every year. I know what to bring for breakfast or what I'll be having. As much as I like the consistency with breakfast, I would like a little different options from day to day. I would like them to bring back the bacon and scrambled eggs. Having salsa available and sour cream would be a bonus (I usually bring my own)
This time, the hot tub was not working, and I attempted to access it twice. I was turned around in my bathing suit back to my room. Not the hotel's fault, and management did offer extra Hilton points in lieu, though a discount would have been preferred. I was a little sad that I wasn't able to relax in the hot tub after a long day's work, so hopefully next time.
I will say that every time I'm there, the staff is more than courteous and kind, and they recognize me and ask how my children are doing and how my day is going. Very relational, and it makes me feel very welcomed.
My room is always clean, and there are always upgrades being done. The fit and finish are not nice, but they do not affect me. I did notice this time that the elevator door wasn't closing properly, but I think they fixed the issue within a few days. So, of course, I will book again and will continue to do so until I no longer have to work through Kamloops."
