"Room was okay although the toilet bowl had a big brown water stain. Very poor dinner selection and what we did choose was mediocre. Didn't stay for breakfast."

"The staff is great, even I am slightly late, he is keen to help and mention he lives in the same property so I can reach out if I have issues with my keycard. The room size is acceptable but the bathroom is very tiny, it is very hard to turnaround in the shower room. Equipments are a bit old and slightly unclean. Mattress is a bit old too. While the room/hotel is non-smoking, I feel like I can smell smoke inside the room. The heater was not warm enough even if it is in mid-March. Plenty of parking space. Not a minus but please note there is no water kettle or hairdryer. "

"Great stay"

"We arrived at 1.50pm. The hotel seemed empty but we were told we could not check in until 2pm. We went and sat in our car until 2pm after no early check in was offered. The man on reception, he felt like he was our boss and offered a poor service. The room was warm and the bed not comfortable. We had a drink at the bar and the same member of staff served us but it appeared as if it was an inconvience to serve us. No one else was around, it was not as if he was busy dealing with other people. Not a pleasant stay"

"We checked in at 0030 so reception was closed which was expected. The message from the hotel gave me a code to use to gain entry. At the hotel I was faced with a check in computer asking for my name and reservation number . After 20 minutes I could not find a reservation number it would accept We used the intercom to speak to someone and got the reservation number. Using this we ‘eventually ‘ got the door to open after about 5 attempts. The code sent by the hotel was infact the reservation number . A simple change in language could have assisted here . Without my message to the hotel prior to travelling this code would not have been sent or available - so despite not knowing this code was the reservation number - how are you supposed to find that out if you don’t know you need it till 0030 when you are tired and trying to check in. It was a poor check in process which even asked for around 2€ in payment and if we wanted breakfast etc . Can you imagine at 0030 if I want this - we just wanted to get to bed not be questioned A very poor system "

"Lovely modern comfortable hotel in the centre of Béthune, my only criticism would be the automatic light by the toilet door that goes on in the night is quite annoying. "

"Room was small and tired, missing many basic features. Average cleanliness. Had numerous issues with both cold and hot water. Restaurant is expensive. Location is outstanding however. "

" The hotel is ideally situated for the centre of town with many good bars and restaurants. Free parking is just a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The standard room we had was clean and comfortable with all we needed, unless you're a tea freak. There was a pod coffee maker in the room. There is a Friday fruit and veg market worth a visit and interesting attractions within easy reach. An award winning bakery provides an excellent continental breakfast with tables outside on the Grand Square. We lived in France for 10 years but this was our first visit to Bethune and the Hotel Eden. It was a very enjoyable location in which to chill out and relax. We'll be back."
